So I've been creeping around the Eternal Sonata stories for a while now, and your name keeps popping up. Really though, that is far from a bad thing, and I've probably read the majority of your stories. They are great stories and it's obvious writing is your passion. Least I hope it is because you seem to have a natural artistic ability with writing. It's a shame Eternal Sonata is getting old and not as popular, you deserve more reviews! As for this fanfiction specifically, I LOVE your idea for this story and Frederic, and I am glad the majority of the family took Beats confession well. This actually hits more on a personal level because my brother is a transgender and deals with things like Frederic was concerned with everyday. Thank you, for bring some light onto these issues. Also, seeing how Jazz and Frederic deal with the alcoholism problem will be interesting. I hope you update soon! (Sorry the review is so long... I probably should have PMed it)

Aww! Okay, it was kind of weird to read and find out Beat was having issues being a boy, but reading on I felt myself accepting. It didn't bother me, I was just feeling for Beat hoping that everyone would react well. Fitting that Salsa wouldn't, but she had her reasons. So finally, Beat's secret is out & Salsa, being who she is, is against it. I like the reactions of your characters especially Rhetto deciding to milk the goats. Chopin is as cute as ever. I certainly enjoyed this.

Oh, I got so excited to see this story updated! I love how you took something, and created another world seemingly effortless. One could feel Frederic's pain when he was worrying for Beatrice/Beat. I hope all the family members react well when they get to meet Beatrice. I am anxious to read it! XD

I actually remember going through my alerts quite recently and thinking "I hope Father gets updated soon". I received the alert for this at around 1 am last night so I didn't see it until this morning. You had no way of knowing this but today is my twentieth birthday (yes, on Thanksgiving, we're sticking candles in the turkey XD) and you gave me an excellent birthday present.

You may not remember me as it was a few months ago, but you really did help me through a tough spot in my writing. While I haven't really been writing at the amount of my heyday, I've been getting inspired and been writing snippets and ideas, which is a start.

Anywho, I loved the Beatrice thing, I can't wait to see more in the storyline as well as more of the rest of this story. There's more I could gush about but I'm short on time (family over and all), so I'll just wish you a happy Thanksgiving and good luck on your future writing.

It really has been so long, but so worth the wait.

I loved this... we get some closure, but it's a little bitter-sweet, and that suits this story just fine.

I love this story. I rarely go online anymore but when I can, I try and find gems like this. (Though, I much prefer calling them candies, ahem) Please, continue to write. I wanna know more. I love Frederic and Jazz pairing. They're so cute together. And how the kids treat Frederic their 'father'.

I just recently finished Eternal Sonata, like a few hours ago, and instantly jumped into the fandom. (I tend to do that with every new source of entertainment I find.) I read mostly one-shots, saving the longest, this one, for last. And I must say, in all my many years of fandoming, I have never come across a fic quite like this.

My most recent fandom (the TV show Supernatural) was very, very large and comprised predominantly of older teens and adults so the quality of the stories were generally all quite good. However, very few perform at the level of your story. "Father" is a tale I'd be willing to read as a book, not just a fandom-fix; the thoughts and motivations that are given to the characters are superb and something I have attempted to capture previously in the past with my own writings, falling miserably short of even my own low expectations.

As I mentioned before, I have previously been reading fanfiction written by an older age group, nonetheless I struggle to recall stories in any of many past fandoms that handled the issues in your story as maturely as you do and often abstain from some of the topics altogether despite being a rather 'varied' bunch unafraid to push the boundaries the anonymity of the internet provides.

Anywho, most of all, I would like to state how thoroughly I enjoyed reading your story and how dearly I hope for you to continue writing it.

Okay, read the whole thing up to this point in one day.

It will be difficult for me from this point forward to consider these characters in any way other than the context in which you have written them. That isn't a bad thing! Up until this point I have never considered Jazz as an alcoholic, or an instigator of domestic violence; I never imagined that Beat could be a cross-dresser struggling with his own sense of self, and I never perceived Frederic as a mother, or a wife.

But they are.

That, in my opinion, is the highest compliment a writer can give another writer. When someone takes characters they did not create and breathes a new life into them, and puts a spin on the story that is entirely their own... that is pure magic. That is the sign that you are doing your work to the very best of your ability.

Keep it up! At this point, I am very proud of you :)

I found this story and read it all in one sitting.

Towards the beginning, I was reading because the story was light-hearted and sweet. Then it took a darker turn, but that was good as well. Frederic's reaction was... extremely believable. I must admit, I was screaming along with Viola for him to get the fuck away, or at the very least screaming at Frederic to confront Jazz about what was happening. But Frederic's reactions and course of action are exactly what he'd do; in my opinion, anyway.

I love the way everyone interacts with each other. That too is very believable, and very in-character. Salsa in particular stands out. She has a way of making interjections that seems difficult to write, but you do it perfectly and naturally.

I also love the episodic nature of this fic. Everything goes together nicely, but each chapter is its own little story, a single 'entry' in Frederic's journal (a format I was a little doubtful about at first, but after reading all there is to read so far, I can say that it suits the nature of the fic perfectly).

The way Frederic 'teaches' the children does remind me a lot of Atticus Finch. I didn't notice until you pointed it out in chapter six, but after you did, I can definitely see the resemblance.

The chapter about Salsa's hamster actually had me in /tears/. That in itself should be a testament to how great this fic is. I'm sure it would be the same for whatever fandom you wrote for- it's your writing style that brought me to tears, not just your portrayal of the characters.

I must admit, Beat's gender identity threw me for a moment, but after I thought about it, I saw that it made some sense. You are taking the characters deeper than what the game shows, but in a believable manner.

And I felt Frederic's distraught when he opened the door, and felt his his shock, horror, and sadness when Beat thought he would hit him.

I rarely comment on/review the fics I read; mainly because, if it's worth commenting on, then it's worth writhing something long and heartfelt. But I rarely have it in me to write something like that, so instead of leaving a meaningless comment, I'll leave nothing at all.

In fact, I don't even have an account on . But I absolutely love this story to bits. I can see the effort that you put into each chapter, and I wanted to at least leave SOMETHING to express exactly how much I love it and appreciate your hard work.

Everything you've written for Eternal Sonata is- amazing. I can't put it into words. The way you write the characters is absolutely perfect, and (saying this as a fellow writer) I really, really, really admire your writing style.

I'm interested to see how Frederic deals with Beat's choices, and with his own role when it comes to being father, mother, housekeeper, and lover. I'm also eager to find out how Frederic will confront Jazz about his drunken behavior, and when, if ever.

... I do hope this review covers everything I want to express. Chances are that I might not comment again (on top of everything else, I'm kind of shy), but do know that I'll be reading, and checking back often for new installments!
