This, ladies and gentlemen, this is how you write a story. Words really can't describe how amazing this story is. I found this story very beautiful and very moving. I just wish kudos would actually film it...

I was browsing the site and came across this story by accident. I just have to tell you how wonderful it is. So beautiful and tender and I have read the whole thing twice. Love it so much.

Just read the whole fic again. Bloody marvellous. I can't really say much else... you're a superb writer who writes heartfelt fics that one can read over and over again. Absolutely loved it.

I wholeheartedly agree with the comments that have been posted - such a touching H/R story - so delicately handled you can just feel the depth of the love that they have for one another... I have added this one to my favourites list and am looking forward to your next fic :)

I think you have done an amazing job with this fic. You have avoided all the clichés and given us a story which is very true to both characters and their anxieties.
This last chapter is incredibly honest and offers so much HR feeling and thankfully has not presented us with Harry as a sex God but as a wonderful, hesitant and slightly insecure but very much in love man. Loved it.

No need to blush about that chapter, but everything to be proud of! Writing Harry and Ruth's intimacy was certainly not easy but you jumped the hurdle with elegance, lots of emotion and respect. I really felt the depth and intensity of their love for each other throughout those lines, particularly when Ruth exposed themselves to each other eyes or when then both said "trust me".
Such a beautiful ending for such a beautiful fic, thanks again for those chapters I will often re-read. Looking forward to your next fic!

What an evening to perfect endings to perfect fics; different genre to 'For his first trick...', but 'Breaking Down' was perfect in it's context.
No need to blush about this chapter; it was tasteful, honest and appropriate. The whole chapter was well balanced; every bit of it was great. Well written, emotional strong and convincing. I've already commented on your ability to perceive and portray both their insecurities and you have done so marvellously.

I got really behind with fic (AGAIN), but this was a pleasure to catch up on. I've noticed that this kind of fic is getting to be a theme, but I'm not complaining because as you know I love 'broken' Ruth and Harry, and I love 'fixing' them or seeing them 'fixed'.

I like the twist you put on it with the letter in ch4, rather than a declaration in spoken words. It makes it both easier for Harry to communicate his feelings, and for you to put them across, because revelations are never easy to do or set the tone for. At first, it bugged me that Harry's past didn't match "Harry's Diary" (I think it's me being sad), but in the end it didn't matter because ultimately the past you chose for him is just that...a past, history. It is only being used to facilitate what happens in the present and the future, and you achieve that.

This chapter in particular uses some wonderful language in the sense that the description and language adds to the haunting feel of things, the sense of occasion: "flowing", "distant movements," "foreshadowing"... Wonderful. I wasn't sure if I would feel that he'd rushed in after his declaration, but in reality, things will always just 'happen when they happen', and the same is true for Ruth and Harry here :)
