| Retribrutus chapter 289 . 4/15/2018 Hello, this is probably my first review ever since I began reading your story and I just have to say that it has great progression and you really are raising the stakes, but here's the thing though, its gotten a bit too serious. I mean not to say that serious is bad, but there just isn't enough lighthearted moments anymore like in the beginning portion of the story. There's less comedy and the whole story isn't as adventure or humor related as the genres above state it will be. Now I'm not being nitpicky about minute things like that and these are just my personal thought, but there's really something that makes it a bit boring as every single character is completely serious. Such as Makoto for example, to me, his character completely changed from that strange yet bright kid to a completely serious kid. Yeah, he's gone through a lot over the course of the story and is a much more mature captain, but the way he's written now overshadows the other aspects of his personality such as his love for riddles which is an established integral part of his character and his bright demeanor. There's also the fact that you're story is more battle-oriented as there's no time for us to see the characters relax and see them and their possibly crazy antics when outside of battle. I know the story is going in the direction of war, but there hasn't been much time to see some exploration of the world of One Piece such as the mysteries, the strange islands, countries and all of that other good aspects of the series. Look, I'm not saying that the story is bad, and in the end, I'm just a reviewer so take this as a grain of salt, well, considering how long you've been at this, you probably already do that, but please try to alleviate the tension at times with a joke anything humor related because having too many battles is exhausting enough, but putting a manageable break in between each arc's fight could work wonders to give Mikoto and his crew more personality. |
