this was written really well, I like the way you integrated the movie and Uhura's loss. Also, how the Sarek and Amanda responded to the loss. Really great, it made feel the same way when I first saw the movie many years ago. I cried when Spock died, and I was mad! You put a lot of thought and feelings in your writing and dialog of each character. Thanks.

Hello, I'm still here, waves at you :-) I really enjoyed this chapter, it gives us more back-story to Sarek and Amanda, and Sarek's interactions with Spock are so very much in character, you write Vulcans well :-) I especially like how you've shown Sarek's grief, his reminiscing of the past is so very much like real life and it makes me feel for him at the missed opportunities between himself and Spock. It's that style of writing that really brings me into this story. So I'll wait patiently for the next update and thanks again for a lovely read.

I am so glad to see an update to this story! I never really thought about the pain Sarek and Amanda were going through until I watched "The Search for Spock" the other day on TV. Sarek was so devestated and angry at Kirk in the movie, for not bringing Spock home to them. It is pretty outragious when you think about how Kirk "disposed" of Spock's body without asking Spock's parents what they wanted. This chapter really brings that pain home. Please continue this story, I am still reading it.
