I assume you wrote this either as a high schooler or as a middle schooler. It’s really not that bad, but that’s because I can vibe with the first person narrator. However it is clearly written by someone who’s view of romance stems only from twilight.

ok, I think I am missing the timeline/chronology here ..

they had become an official COUPLE and acknowledged gf/bf at the end of chapter 17 .. but now in ch. 18 :
- both are trying to peddle the "just friends" bullshit again to Gary/Zoey .. ? that was long over already in ch. 17
- many years have passed since ch. 17 and it says Ash has dated Anabel, Serena (for 3 years ?) and even MISTY (Misty ?!) during that time .. um, what ? thats impossible .. after everything its impossible to believe he would even consider it, much less do it

did you mean something else or are we supposed to think he LEFT DAWN (!) of his own free will to try dating some other girls for some unfathomable reason ? and it lasted 4 years too ?
again, this isnt possible really, going off the first 17 chapters

tbh I think that was some typo, you should take the Anabel, Misty, Serena part out and just have them be a non-engaged couple for all these years
