I didn't bother me in the least. I liked seeing another reaction from Sarah to the whole experience (I don't know how it came to be that negative and traumatic to bring her to that point). I don't know the fact that she did something as struck a bird with a stone just seems actually really sad. Especially the body of dead owls are rather tragic looking, their eyes are very heart breaking to look at. I somehow imagine that he didn't die from just one hit. All in all good little short story, it's more thought provoking than most I've read.
