This was really good. I'm gutted it was only a oneshot though. It was nice to read :)

I found this very interesting for some reason like it could be made into a novel if improved. I love the imagery and the story really intrigued me. I even looked up the Story of Opium whatever that was :)

hmm... that was quite interesting... i liked it!

This started off very choppy and disjointed, but I think you intended it to flow that way. I enjoy reading a great setup: well placed imagery and an even build up to some climactic event, whether dramatic or subtle. Light and darkness contrasts always work in my opinion, and I think you worked through that relationship well. It makes me want to know more about his parents' demise, but it is still complete.

I greatly enjoyed reading, and I hope you continue to explore intriguing and/or unique plots such as this one.

I love the way you write your stories. There would always be something dark, lonely and heavy atmosphere. But in every darkness, there would always be a light. A light that will keep you to keep holding on. :D
