The brothery love in this was strong, I loved it

Totally awesome. And I seriously hope Dean stops with the snotty one liners and sarcastic put downs all the while assuming that Sam knows that it means he loves him. Because sometimes you just have to SAY what you really mean and show it, too! Especially to sensitive gigantic little brothers that have been tortured by Lucifer! Just sayin...
But yeah, completely and totally awesome! xo

Ha ha! Awesome. I laughed at that last part. Gotta say Sam loves to make it complicated and Dean does makes things even more fun by so rarely been straight with Sammy about what he's really feeling. Nice job. I really enjoyed reading this.

That was so heartbreaking! I'm glad Sam and Dean finally have the chance to just be brothers again (wonder how long that will last..) and I was in tears through most of this chapter. Poor Sam, he really thinks that he's only a burden, a curse to his brother.

It's good that Dean was able to tell Sammy how much he means to him without the sarcastic one-liners but I'm glad you fit at least a few in there. Dean just wouldn't be Dean without those little quips.

Loved it. Wish Kripke would take a leaf out out of your book and return the brothers.

I will admit that it broke my heart for Sam that Dean did this without him but - other than that, lol - I loved this. I will admit I kept clickng for a 3 chapter 'cause I'm selfish and was hoping for a hug 'cause Sam was just soooo broken. Perfect.

My favorite part was when Dean finally realized that some things he had just assumed Sam knew or understand, hadn't translated as well as he thought, and he pretty much ended up saying it out. Sometimes people need to be told. Especially since Sam does seem cursed and needed to be told that he wasn't a burdern and that Dean did want him in his 'happy' life.

Oh my god there is so much love for this! I'd forgotten how much I LOVE angst! And YOU are FILLED with it! This was just incredible!

It's so been about Dean and his 'man pain' as I've seen it mentioned. But Sam has been through SO much. Everything he does is wrong, from the beginning, and instead of sympathy for trying to do good, he gets attacked. I'd feel the same way if I were him, wanting to hide away. Poor thing!

But you just made it all better. You let him get his time, he did what Dean asked him and still got slammed for it. So a little 'sans Sammy' time for Dean was exactly what the youngest Winchester thought was needed. But when it all comes down to it, they need each other. And you did that so beautifully!

I really like how you had both the boys thinking about each other again and when Dean called Sam they finally talked everything out. The torture part with Lucifer was brutal, but I'm glad Gabriel brought Sam back. The brothers are finally on their way to being brothers again and I'm glad they were able to reassure each other, with their self confidence problems they both needed that.

Great story, heart breaking but then ultimately rewarding!

I really hope the show addresses this issue even half as well as you have.

This part in particular "just…I feel like, for most of my life, without really meaning to, I just…I've let you down." Sam is a different person than Dean and should not have to apologize for having dreams and happy memories outside of his family. I am convinced Sam's heaven was manipulated by Zach and while Dean is not in the place to see that, there is a big difference between unintentionally hurting someone and intentionally hurting them.
