...and then Twilight is just lame.

Sanctuary made it so appealing, Five Friends, oh if only it could have been all five, but at the very least, Nikola and Helen, you won't be alone, without someone around who had shared of experience of being alive at your original time period, and so much to discover, so much to invent!

As always, your writing is absolutely beautiful, and I have to say I just adored this story. I love your emphasis on the "you don't know what you've got till it's gone" theme especially pertaining to Nikola, and I love your characterizations and descriptions and just everything :) Especially the ending, when Helen finally decides not to be alone anymore and realizes that she does have something to live for in Nikola. And when she finally "sees" him. That was just breathtaking. LOVED it.

You use a LOT of description, but it's not cumbersome at all - in fact, it adds a ton of emotional impact. Even just the little word combinations - "from her uncertain eyes to her parted lips," "Shivers tingling underneath her skin"... those are just awesome.

I really wish this is how the show did it becuase this is brillant! I would've loved the episode to end like this, and I'm more than certain, that it would've fit. The entire time while reading I had this film of the two of them running in my head and have to say that you described the characters perfectly.
