I felt so bad reading this when I realized I looked at the twins the same way

God, the angst. It takes nothing short of genius to write something like this- and I love the relationship they had at first and I'm hoping that my own brother and I will nevre separate.

This SHATTERED MY FREAKING HEART. Tuffnut was already sad, but then Ruffnut? Killed me. I... just... FFN doesn't let you quote, but the sadness, the resignation, your Ruffnut slays me. I.. THank you.

All of it, though Ruffnut's chapter in particular, had me tearing up. I honestly love the twins to bits and its so not fair how theyre always undercredited, and this was a really unique and touching take.

As a twin myself, I can SO relate. I am constantly grouped together with my twin and acted like some two-headed creature- not an individual. Even my own siblings and parents get us mixed up. People have asked us these stupid questions... Can you read each other's minds? Do you feel what the other twin feels? Sleep in the same bed? RUDE. Bless you for writing this story, and I truly hope that people know that twins are separate people, and grouping them together can really hurt. When I was little, I spent nights crying over this stuff.
Anyways, enough about me. Awesome story! I love it to death. Thank you so much for writing this! :D Can't get enough twin feels.

I stumbled on this pearl while I was rummaging through the Ruff and Tuff tag. It's just so precious, what you did here. Lately I've been so in love with the twins and their dynamic. And I'm kinda tryna show the world that these twins are awesome and I know that kind of sounds outdated but whatever. I wondered the same thing, you know, why they seemed to be so cruel to each other and yet never stayed apart. And what you've made here is so wonderful of a plausible explanation as to why. I guess all I'm saying is, this one was so good that I was thinking if I should ask you to add a chapter but at the same time, this story is like one of those really good ones that don't need another chapter because it's just THAT good. I just want to smother you in love and kisses.

All in all, this was an amazing story! You rock!

I know a pair of twin brothers and it's important to remember that twins are separate people and not two parts of one whole.

I really liked this, both chapters. It's a different take on why the twins act the way they do (although I have a younger brother, and we always fought just to fight), and makes perfect sense. It's sort of bittersweet – they fought to separate themselves, yet it didn't work. And Ruffnut's thoughts on Hiccup and Astrid were sad. Don't worry Ruff; you'll find someone someday who's way different, and who won't share you with a dragon either! And I really like Tuffnut's attempts at getting closer with his sister. Just goes to show that, when it comes down to it, family's family. 'Nuff said.

For some reason, the whole "Ruffnut-and-Tuffnut being one single entity" thing kind of reminds me of Fred and George Weasley – although in their case, they're perfectly happy being "one" person! Makes it lots easier to prank and confuse people that way! XD
