Kenshin reminds me a bit of Uchiha Sasuke.

The words are literally at the tip of Kenshin's tongue. If I was his conscience, I would make him say it.

I like that Kenshin is laying there thinking desperately for something to SAY and comes up with two (profound) words, but spent an hour SHOWING her how he felt. That's pretty essential Kenshin, I think.
