Oh god. I just... I must be a masochist. I keep coming back to this, to how beautiful and horrible and catastrophically immaculate it is. It's heartrending, it's heartwarming, and I can't help but feel torn between hating and loving it as a work. I find myself reaching for a happy ending, but at the same time... I know that would undermine the whole thing.
