Man, that was DARK. One of darker AA fics i've seen here. Godot was probably even more of an asshole than in canon. I didn't like that Shelly left Maya like that, he's a man of honor, he doesn't seem like someone who'd trick Phoenix with exact words like this. Maya on the other hand was very much in-character. That was good, since she was the main character here. The premise is interesting and quite honestly well executed, but...
Personally i don't like that at no point Phoenix tried to investigate Iris. In earlier chapters it was understandable, since he was after mental breakdown, but when he recovered later, it seems weird that he'd just leave it at that. It was also weird from Iris that she didn't try to do anything when she found out that he was arrested. And the last two chapters seem completely unnessecary, i understand that story needed to be wraped up, but considering that you said in chap 12 that story is not even close to over i'd expect something more than just two chapters of shipping. Wrapping up the story could've been done in 10% of the length of these two chapters. I suspected that something more will happen, but it didn't, so these two are dissapointment.
Overall the story is pretty good, but could've been a bit better.

Not quite sure why this is the Mia Fey community since it's mostly about Maya and Nick, but oh well.

It was a nice story. Good job keeping Maya in character. :)

I have mixed feelings about this story. On one hand, it's well written. Although the ending left me slightly dissatisfied, since Phoenix was broken and all, I did enjoy it. It felt a little bit like the story had ended too soon.

On the other hand, did Edgeworth just...spontaneously combust or something? I understand he wasn't the focus of this story, but, since he was the prosecutor in that case, he should have at least made some sort of cameo, being Pheonix's original inspiration and inspired by Phoenix's idealistic pursuit of truth.

Sorry about that. Edgey is just one of my favorite characters, so his total lack of showing up surprised me. Good story, but probably not my favorite.

I don't know why this has so few reviews; it was charming and mysterious and angsty in all the right places.

I adored it. Wonderful, wonderful job.

I like how Phoenix mentions he sent letters to Maya, but never got a response. It's a little touch, but it twanged the old heart strings. I bet Mr. Godot threw them out when he was busy sorting Maya's mail.

Awwww. I loved the ending.

...I really want to eat a ramen burger. I'm going to try and make one when I'm not so lazy and buy some burger buns.

...And looks like it's done! Excellent! This epic fic has reached its satisfying conclusion, by dint of much effort. And believe me, it's brilliant.

So this is the end huh? A satisfactory conclusion, probably the best that could be hoped for, given Phoenix's disillusionmnet with everything. Hmm, when his world comes crashing down, Maya's still there.

Hmm, this really seems like 'The End' but I guess it isn't. Nick's still cynical and the like, but since this is AU, there's no reason to believe he'd end up going back go his old self. Interesting, I wonder where this is going.

The Godot POV part was fantastic, really captured his selfish reasons for everything he did.

Wow things have gotten even more complicated, so now they're going to be put on trial togehter. Phoenix's reaction to all this is going to be most interesting.

I actually know what actually happened during this case now, I went and read up on it so now I can have a better appreciation of this story. Sadly, some of my earlier questions make me seem quite the fool. Anyway, good bridging chapter showing Pearly's motivations.
