This is really great and all, but it seems like you're kinda rushing things. Also, there are no question marks where there should be at times, like in the text. One last thing, although Arthur might know Alred's name 'cause he showed him his ID, there was never a time on screen where Alfred found out Arthur's name, which leaves kind of an essential and annoyingly missing piece of plot out.

French is weird and has masculine and feminine versions of most nouns and pronouns. The general rule of thumb is that the feminine version is either the one ending with "a", has an extra "e" stuck on the end, or is longer and fancier looking. Thus we get il/elle, mon/ma, etc. So in the case of "dear", the two versions are "cher" and "cherie". They are pronounced differently... cher sounds a bit like sure but replacing the u soud with e, and cherie sounds a bit like cherry, replacing the ch with an sh.

Uh... my point... it was... oh yes! Francis calling Matthew "cherie" means that Matthew's a girl. Which he isn't. So if he knew as much french as Ivan seemed to imply, he'd be insulted. A girl is "ma cherie", a boy is "mon cher".
