Awesome story. The saddness felt by all the chars really comes through in your writing. I got teary eyed while I read this. The last line is one of my favorites from the game.

Seriously. It was like friggin' Ironhide in Dark of the Moon. Very little, if any, reaction to his death.

These days, the very thought of him makes me wanna curl up in a ball and die, myself. Stupid Kai Leng. Stupid Cerberus. Stupid Bioware.

I am still impressed that your one off ending written two years ago turned out to be better than what we got from Bioware. It's some lovely imagery, and I will forever love the phrase "You did good, child."

A sad end indeed, and one I've contemplated as I wonder about the content for the final game. After all, the ending for the final game will have to be spectacular, or hundreds of thousands of people are going to be so ticked off, to put it mildly.

I do consider this a possible ending - look at what happened at the end of the Dragon Age game (even though admittedly there was a chance to avoid it), also by Bioware - though in the end I hope it doesn't come to that. I doubt Cerberus would be willing to resurrect her a second time, if anything could be found of her in order to do so.

Still, a touching story, especially with Thane's death and their reunion. Thane is one of my favorite romance options (Garrus also ranking among the top) and I hope he manages to be in the next game.

Ah, this brought tears to my eyes. The thought of Thane dying just makes me want to curl up in a hole and cry.

I love how you gave Shepard her ending though. Going out with a bang to save the galaxy is definitely the way to go if Thane is dead, and the ending was just sweet enough to make me forgive you for the angst you wrought with Thane's death :P.

Very well done, but oh so terribly sad. If Bioware does kill Thane, I think this might be how I'd choose to end my Shep's story... she saves the universe by making the ultimate sacrifice.

Though this ending would be bittersweet, I love how you have given a hint that they're together again in the end. Still, I have to agree with you - we need that option for a happy ending!

Wow, RShara (Shavon from NSAS). That was very incredible, imaginative and,well, sad! I love that little hint of the life beyond towards the end; it was a very moving touch. This is definitely one of the best sad!Thane fics I've read in awhile.

Why do you have to make me sad at work? :(. Honestly, I loved everything except the part where Thane died, but the ending more than made up for that. It was actually kind of awesome. My favorite story of yours so far!
