This is really good! Your spelling and grammar is flawless and your ideas and characterisations are perfect. The plant was a really original, clever idea that brought out Neville and Hermione's characters so well. I love how you write, your descriptions of Hermione's fidgety hands was so good! I particularly enjoyed the ending where you describe "the soft creak of the book opening and the whisper of the pages" and Ron pretending to have read Hogwarts: A History - which is of course ridiculous! It was a lovely, fun story to read.

So, this might just be my favorite story. It's soooo cute! When you said that Hermione would cry herself to sleep, I was torn between laughter and pity. That's really, really good writing! I can see Hermione pretending to have not heard the instructions so that she could hear Ron's voice. I can also see Ron offering to read Hogwarts: A History to her even if he wouldn't read it himself for her. Keep writing!
