Guest chapter 1 . 5/2/2014 Not just this story but all. Please Wright more |
Herby Girl chapter 1 . 3/14/2013 Truly lovely. Made me cry, but then Alistair always does! Thank you for sharing. |
codellmarie chapter 1 . 1/28/2013 I love this story so much, the second and third time through. It inspired me to write something similar, if you would like to check it out. |
Guest chapter 1 . 10/4/2012 Absolutely terrific.. My 2nd read in 2 weeks, and it still brought me close to tears.. My thanks. |
vegeta's chew-toy chapter 1 . 8/7/2012 Too much emotion, dammit. Why must you continue to drown your readers in all dose feels? *simultaneously bawls and smiles* |
Silverrun chapter 1 . 7/13/2012 Exceptional. You have an amazing talent to combine humour, love and suffering into something that's so very real it becomes unreachable. I am fast becoming your most devoted fan, because not only is the writing very clean, skillful, inventive and alive; it also resonates within the reader - or at least within me - and becomes a bit more than just a fanfic story. You know those moments when cynism is powerless to protect from the truth and some kind of pain anymore, yet you keep it up out of habit and it becomes kind of sweet in the misery? That's the vibe I'm feeling from your stories:) (And as this might confuse you, I assure you it's a good feeling;). Anyway, I almost cried, so thanks for this one specially. |
moiradeathwidow chapter 1 . 7/12/2012 Happiness, even in death :D |
Elshumkelate chapter 1 . 7/8/2012 This is absolutely beautiful, Dasque. Makes me cry every time I read it. |
bringmeadragon chapter 1 . 5/7/2012 This was beautiful, heartbreaking and intensely satisfying. The narrative style you've chosen really made the story - I was hooked immediately. I think you've made the idea that Alistair and the Warden remained apart for the years somehow more romantic than it would be otherwise. STELLAR work. |
gaurdian9sunshine chapter 1 . 2/23/2012 I loved it. Reading it made me wish that the warden, whoever she is, was able to have Alistair not mad at her after all those years. I loved how he forgave her, and how is going to go with her to her Calling. |
Alissa Cousland chapter 1 . 10/10/2011 This was an absolutely beautiful story! It completely captured the characters feelings perfectly, and brought a tear to my eye. Wonderful! |
L. Century chapter 1 . 8/23/2011 ok so i've been trying to go around and give as many cheeky monkeys reviews because in the thread A Review Is.. i had said a reviewlove and we could all use a smile, right? Although it seems i'm the one who was given a present with this piece. I actually cried, and trust me when i say i don't cry. Firstly, i have only seen one other person do this tense and pull it off as successfully as you have. Normally it's just a hot mess when people try it and i can't get through five sentences before hitting the back button. This was soo hauntingly beautiful. The pace just right and easy to get hooked into and easy to stay with it. The best though is alistair trying to make up for twenty five years in a kiss and p/c believing he might succeed. VERY alistair. which makes me squee uncontrollably. I'm also a fan of Zevran and i think you also write him very believably. That zevran would understand pc's heart was still alistair's. You hit the right emotional cord. Ok now i need tissues. Damn you. )~ |
JayRain chapter 1 . 8/9/2011 Maker's breath, I'm nearly in tears. What a beautiful take on the haunting end. I particularly like the use of second-person present tense. It engages the reader and makes the Calling so very personal, makes the emotions even more real. The farewell to Zevran is poignant, as is the loneliness without him on the road. When Alistair shows up it becomes a struggle to hold on to one's emotions. You characterize him beautifully, and his ability to have learned from his mistakes and turn them around to make the most of the dark future is pretty heart-wrenching. But in all, I think the line that sums it up best is this: "time is painfully short for ridiculous things like petty vengeance and hurt feelings" because it's very true for the characters. However, I think it's very true about life in general, and it's too bad it takes the Calling to make them realize this. Lovely, haunting piece. |
Padme4000 chapter 1 . 4/3/2011 I don't think words can truly describe how great this was. It is what I would have hoped would have happened to my Mahariel Warden in the end. With him again. |
