This is astounding. I think I've read it three times in the last half-hour, just trying to come to grips with it. I thought about quoting lines to show you what I liked, but it's really the whole thing. The image you create is both totally unreal and entirely believable.

It's really really very beautiful-the imagery of the ship coming in as something that's too vast to fathom and in *that* there is beauty and sorry if I'm slightly incoherent, it's just *that* wonderful. Oh. My. This is the most intelligent, thought-out fan fiction story I have read in a long time...possibly ever. The imagery with using things like Dr. McCoy's song and making it into a sail was really beautiful. The fact that Jim was making a ship out of memories was facinating and very creative on your part.

I also liked the imagery with Captain Pike and the wager he made with Jim - it seemed very in-character. It was sweet that he picked Jim up at the end, too.
