ThorneofAcre chapter 1 . 2/28/2015 I've never read something so short and beautiful in my life. This deserves more recognition that it has gotten. Thank you for sharing. |
LucyWithoutDiamonds chapter 1 . 9/3/2013 I'm not sure whether they named their ships Enterprise or George, but wow, this piece was so inexplicably beautiful. Write more, please! |
not-exactly-the-truth chapter 1 . 8/20/2013 Holy cow, I think I'm in love with your writing. Is that possible? Too late, it's already happened. Jesus, this is amazing. Like, rip-my-heart-out-and-bake-me-cookies amazing (if that makes any sense?). |
AngelQueen chapter 1 . 9/2/2012 *whimper* Oh wow, this... is just too heartbreaking for words. Heartbreaking, and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing! |
M.Kena chapter 1 . 5/19/2010 "In Jim's head there is a red door, and beyond it is a great ship-shaped machine powered by dreams and memories and the heart-sick longing of a boy who belongs to the stars." This? I cried. Beautiful. You're a great writer. Keep it up! |
Crysania Fay chapter 1 . 5/17/2010 I will have you know that you gave me shivers there at the end. _ I loved this! Twas beautifully written! |
Lily Rose Granger chapter 1 . 3/18/2010 This is astounding. I think I've read it three times in the last half-hour, just trying to come to grips with it. I thought about quoting lines to show you what I liked, but it's really the whole thing. The image you create is both totally unreal and entirely believable. I almost want to ask you the name of the ship, except I don't. Beautiful. Thank you. |
Lady Merlin chapter 1 . 3/11/2010 Whoa. This is *incredibly* pretty and so utterly haunting, I'll have to go read it again. It's really really very beautiful-the imagery of the ship coming in as something that's too vast to fathom and in *that* there is beauty and sorry if I'm slightly incoherent, it's just *that* wonderful. Keep writing awesome stuff. Love, Lady Merlin |
burgermeister chapter 1 . 3/10/2010 Oh. My. This is the most intelligent, thought-out fan fiction story I have read in a long time...possibly ever. The imagery with using things like Dr. McCoy's song and making it into a sail was really beautiful. The fact that Jim was making a ship out of memories was facinating and very creative on your part. I also liked the imagery with Captain Pike and the wager he made with Jim - it seemed very in-character. It was sweet that he picked Jim up at the end, too. Great story! |
Ackeberlynn chapter 1 . 3/9/2010 Love it. Very poetic and beautiful and true. I especially love the last line-"...the heart-sick longing of a boy who belongs to the stars". True, true. :) |
