I would love to see this continued! I'm all for a good Kenshin/Hiko relationship where they both get what they want/need. LOL

Oh, this was good! Hiko's letting Kenshin go in the original never sat well with me, and not because Kenshin was too young, but because I think Hiko was aware of what was going to happen. I wish this had happened. The story would be different, but maybe there would have been less heartache for the poor boy.

Good idea. Hiko is totally in character, so cynical and proud, yet caring about his baka deshi. To be honest, I'm Hiko's fangirl too, he is the best charcter of show after Kenshin.

I like it. Maybe he WON'T be persuaded to be an assassin, and Hiko and Saitou can have fun trading sarcasm. hah! Nice.

I have never seen this story line written about before. You now have me thinking about how the lives of many characters we care about would have been changed and what that outcome could possibly be. Another thing I really like about this story is that your Hiko is believeable and remains in character. This is a fascinating twist on the original story and one I hope you will expand on.

I love the path your story has taken. I will be looking for more.

That's an interesting thought. What role would Hiko have played if he had gone to the revolution? I certainly can't see him as a hitokiri.

Great premise for an AU! I wish this wasn't a one-shot. Really well-written story, I like the part about Hiko not needing his mountian seclusion to train Kenshin, hah. To throw in a constructive critque, I think you meant to say that it seemed as if Kenshin was determined to make Hiko's death one by aggravated ulcer. I got the idea (if that is what you meant to say), but it doesn't quite read like that.
