Great wrap up to the story; lots of action and the bad guys got what was coming to them. Love the mentions of the Bowie knife, nice tribute to the original story. Emile does seem to be a waste of space but very good looking. Love that Maverick secured a date to the Ball after all. Thanks for posting this here.

Hee! Very enjoyable start to the story and nice how well this fits Maverick. He does manage to get himself in trouble when he doesn't listen to that part of himself that doesn't feel very helpful. Getting involved in a family dispute and elopement is just asking for trouble. Off to read the next part.
