My 3rd story from River after the Distance and Sleepless spirits, it was amazing, i enjoyed every chapter and always brighten my day, the story is well written with in every detail, from the scenery to the feelings. Reading that there is a sequel too, i was so happy about it, soon i will start it too :)
Now my thoughts about the story and the happenings, before i will head to the sequel: - what if Alta's vision was true, just the time has not come yet? Because just like Malefor, Spyro can turn too to his dark side, what if Spyro will bring the end? - I felt that Alta was not the last one, after he mentioned, that the monkeys cut his brother's tail and left it there. - When Alta died, i felt sorry for him, yea i know, he made all that mess, but since he was not in the right mind, he was just another victim of the war. - And the last "Alta lay alone surrounded by rock walls and torches that were slowly dying to embers. Soon he would he left without light staring blankly into the darkness for all eternity." This was one of the description, which gave me shivers down the spine, and i think one of the saddest too, poor Alta, even he was the main threat, i believe he deserved at least a funeral, no one deserves to be left alone in the dark. But maybe it is in the sequel? :) I will find out, and mostly that too, what Cynder is going to do with the poison claws. So i would like to say a big thanks to River, brighten my grey days with this great story and i would like to wish him luck, strength, for the future and for his projects. :)

I enjoyed this story I while I kinda hate Alta for what he did for Flame I can’t help but feel sorry for him he truly was lost in his despair and grief of loosing his family and friends I hope Spyro, Cynder and the others find the other Oracle and give him/her a chance to enjoy peace

I honestly feel sorry for Alta he lost everything he loved and was so lost in his grief that he would do that causing the last member of his clan to die

Funny thing about the future Alta it isn’t always set in stone the future can be changed you as a seer can only see one possible path but not the full thing

Somehow I’m not surprised that Terrador suggested to have the cheetahs fly on dragonback

Alright, here we go. Time to begin a new fanfiction journey. I am a new fan of Spyro, your story was recommended to me by my friend, Aquilla Prime. He writes Spyro fanfics as well and considers you his inspiration and favorite Spyro author. So, I thought I'd check this story out ;)

I must say right off the bat I love how perfectly you captured the personality of each character. With Sparx, he shows concern for his brother and yet, he's naughty and teasing at times. Spyro is modest, super nervous around Cynder (which I find so adorable), and at the same time eager to help others. He never runs from danger. Hunter is more serious and wise. It make sense in a way that he was the one to really give Spyro the pep talk he needed after the weight of Ignitus' passing hit him. He's a fighter and has probably seen a lot of death in his own tribe, so he'd have much experience with mourning. Terrador is, I usually think of him as a gentle giant. I've always considered him to have taken charge after Ignitus dies, and I like that you showed that here as well. He seeks Spyro out in the beginning and gives him all his orders near the end. Volteer and Cyril, I consider to be kind of the comic relief when it comes tot he guardians. Especially in the case of Volteer, u hit the nail on the head.

Im intrigued by the concept for this story at the moment. Something i really love is the time period in which the tale is set. Right after Malefor's defeat, that's probably my favorite scenario and in looking for fanfics I searched for this specifically. The wounds are still fresh and Spyro and Cynder's personality hasn't changed at all. One mystery that I wodner if it will be discussed later at all is how did that armor get in that chest in Spyro's room? That wasn't answered right away. I wonder who snuck in and dropped it there.

Not much else to say for now. First impression has intrigued me. And the way you write is SO clear. And not only that, it makes me really feel like Im living through the characters. In a way, you're not telling me a story, I'm experiencing it. That's what I want in a fanfic, to be taken into the world of the characters that I fantasize about when I should be working XD

Like it thus far and am happy that this story has already been completed. Waiting for updates, especially with cliffhangers is PAINFUL!

Actually, I did fall asleep while reading this chapter (although it was 1 am) lol

I'll give you long, but don't be so hard on yourself. That chapter was not boring.

dude, this story was really good. Only Residual Darkness ruined it with it's last chapter. Why did you take away his elaements. it was going so well. At least my stories have proper endings.

finally finished rereading it, it's Been 1 year or 2 since I first read it. it's like reading it for the first time. I forgot how good this story was.

Heh how does it feel being the top writer on this side of fan-fiction? With a bit of typingand soul searchingI came across one of the best stories... and believe when I say that because I’ve read tons of ‘good’ books (over 40 favorites) but this is on par with my top 3.

I don’t think we say this enough but we readers thank you for taking the time- even though it’s inconvenient for you- to write this

I can’t believe it... 8 years after and this story is still captivating the hearts of many, many readers. This was the first Spyro FanFiction I have read and let me tell you; you definitely didn’t disappoint.

I just wanna say, this was by far, one of the best spyro fanfic I've ever read. and the sequel is just as good, even if it took some time to read. I must say, I commend you for such good stories, and I'm one for Spyro and Cynder but anyways I'm off to catch up on balefire and read Fireflight. at least there are people who will agree with me saying that the story was good, I look forward to rereading and revisiting them in the future. well done.
