This is gorgeous and beautiful and heartbreaking in all the right ways. I love how utterly human you made James and Lily, because it makes everything that much more real. That being said, I can't pretend I like this Lily at all, who is so purely selfish that she tries to justify breaking James' heart. I would hate to think that these versions of Lily and James end up together, simply because Lily is so destructive to James. Still, an incredibly well-written story with developed characters! It was enjoyable, in its own heart-wrenching way.

Congrats on making such a sad and heart breaking story so compelling. You write so beautifully, so much description of feelings and moments, and yet I don't feel as though I'm re reading the same thing over and over. You have fantastic way of telling emotions and stories so beautifully.

Personally, I love the ending. Not because lily and James don't quite make it (I'm upset at that!), but because it's real, and I feel it hurt me in my chest, like im sure it hurt (killed) James. Congrats on a superb story!

I do still appreciate the fact it is a tragedy and it's bittersweet and awful and real. Because that is reality and it's far more interesting, but it still hurts! This was so well written and I really felt part of it and it hurt! Stupid lily! I loved the line about how James wouldn't let her get away with things he'd call her out on it, make her talk to him. Just so sad and frustrated. He loves her as if she's perfect but he doesn't expect her to be, can't she see he expects less from her than Aidan. She can just be lily. Having Aidan be the gryffindor keeper was tense!

So good. Oh. I'm dying. for real. This is so good.

Keep on doing HP J/L fanfics, they are amazing. Yeah.

i honestly don't know if i should have read this, depressed as I am. This story broke my already broken heart. I actually have a dull hollow feeling in the centre of my chest. My throat is tightening, and it's difficult to breathe. Maybe it's cause when I read LJ fanfics, I really immerse myself into James and this time Lily broke my heart. Oihh. Brings back memories. Emo.

I really, really, really liked this story - everything but the end. The writing is excellent, and it has a great plot. However, I was very disappointed to see that it didn't end as predicted. While I understand that that's the intended effect (and this may be partially due to my preference for canon stories), I was still disappointed. Maybe leave a note at the beginning or in the summary that it's slightly AU? Other than that, though, I really liked the writing - you're quite good and I hope to read more of your work.

wow wow wow okay i am i really don't know this is the most unique jily story that i have read and i quite like it because those stories who doesn't have a happy ending are the ones that - at least for me - i never forget just like 500 days of summer for example. and sorry for the incoherent review. Just amazing

This is one of the best one shots i have ever read and Ive read a lot. Good Job.

I think what I really liked was the character development, especially with Lily. You get alot of stories - and I'm guilty of this - where its just James growing up and changing, where Lily is a princess and he needed to change for her. And though he did change she also had alot of her own problems to get past.

I did like the ending though it did confuse me how you were saying that it couldn't work out when we all know they end up together, hell if they didn't I wouldn't be writing this review.

A few people have mentioned that it didnt flow properly, but hey their relationship didn't flow nicely, and so the story didnt need to either.

All in all, I thought it was beautiful and the characters were brilliant.

To that one person who said it wasn't lily to be bitchy, well its Zayz story, and your characters and shes free to write them however.
