I think the way they did it in the movie was better. I mean, they ended up together at the end. He surprised her at her school dance. The only disappointment with the movie for me is that they never kissed. After the whole plot, and all that happens, not even one kiss? Unrealistic if you ask me. Otherwise a good movie.
