theDsacrifice chapter 1 . 9/11/2019 Sweet! Finally a story about Baby. Hope more are coming? Love the little touches you add to the Winchester saga. |
LunaBianca chapter 1 . 4/8/2018 I dig the alternating point of view and overall progression. Baby is a loyal member of the Winchester family! ;) |
Jade Ice Fire chapter 1 . 2/23/2015 I love all your stories. You have their characters down to the last drop of sweat they shed for one another. Even this one, The Impala has gotten a masterful tribute in these words. I love all of them so much and I will endeavor to read every one often. |
Fi Suki Saki chapter 1 . 1/22/2015 Baby is so a Winchester ! She through much ! She see so much ! And Important member in the Winchester relationship as well... Love the way you wrote Impala's importance |
NoilyPrat chapter 1 . 12/8/2014 oh yeah, love the Impala. Great story! |
NogadamoBhitia chapter 1 . 9/21/2014 My family had the same family car my whole childhood and I cried when they finally sold it. We drove cross country in it many times and its back seat was almost like home. This story brought back those feelings. Thanks for writing and posting it. |
Shazza chapter 1 . 9/15/2013 The montage of the impala with Chucks explanation was one of my fav parts of that episode and here you did a really stellar riff on the same idea months earlier. Brilliant baby! |
sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 4/17/2013 yay, the Impala gets some screen time. :) I love how you chose to go about explaining what it meant to them throughout the years. |
Aaleiyah JoRayne Hunter chapter 1 . 12/23/2010 Ah, another jewel from you. I absolutely loved the opening scene, Sam's "They feel like their older than me" and Dean's rejoinder. And I also loved Dean's "So be alone over there." Sam washing the car was a sign that he was still looking out for Dean by taking care of his baby. Amazing! Thanks for sharing this! As Always, Joee |
Liafrombrazil chapter 1 . 3/16/2010 Another outstanding writing. I love all "chapters" as they're a continued story, but some parts made me think harder. I love the hurt/comfort when Dean was shot, because it's great h/c in your style and Sam counted on her almost like she was a person and kept Dean awake by saying he is the only one who can take care of her. Also, I love Dean not spending his last days on getting drunk, dating or having fun because "Why not" (liked it) was there and needed him. The car, then, felt like home for both. Love, love, love the last part where Dean knew what Sam thinks about why their dad had given Dean the car. You made me realize that I always had thought of John as a father who gave the fatted calf to the loyal son, not to the prodigal one. The Impala really is an expression of sharing and love. I know it takes time, dedication and a willingness to write like you do, but it always flows so naturally and is so enjoyable to read. Thank you for sharing. Always. |
darksupernatural chapter 1 . 3/13/2010 'It was their bedroom, hospital, retreat, olive branch, attic, neutral ground, base of operations, weapons locker, chick magnet, legacy, comfort, and shield. As well as, still, an expression of love.' That I loved. Thanks for the great read. |
Crimson Ivy chapter 1 . 3/8/2010 Tribute to Lady Impala! :D A few sentences have caught my attention: "No ceiling in the car, Sam," he offered gently. Dean had done everything he could to make things easier on the kid, not wanting Sam to regret the move or, please, leave again. He would rather Sam think that than know Dad's real motive: he saw that Dean's heart was broken and that he desperately needed something to take care of. It had been a gift of love. Sure, Sammy, tell me another. "So be alone over there," Dean said diffidently He'd been the one to teach Sammy how to drive. The kid had been terrified enough without having Corporal Winchester giving him a heart attack every time he made a mistake. Dean just took him out on empty country roads and cut him loose. Then made him wash the car after. These parts speak volumes about Dean’s past, feelings... and the last two are funny, at least for me. :D Another great story, thank you! :) |
Scullspeare chapter 1 . 3/1/2010 Ahh, Two tons of Detroit steel – the only woman in the Winchesters’ lives no fan seems to kick up a fuss about! *g* “It was their bedroom, hospital, retreat, olive branch, attic, neutral ground, base of operations, weapons locker, chick magnet, legacy, comfort, and shield. As well as, still, an expression of love.” Wow. You said a mouthful. The Impala is such a symbol of who they are, where they’re going, where they came from – the show just wouldn’t be the same without her. Fabulous job capturing her magic. Cheers, Sculls |
Rosetta Brunestud chapter 1 . 3/1/2010 I'm not a great fan of cars, but the Impala is just amazing ahaha She is beautiful *-* Good fic, shows pretty well why the car is so important in the series See ya next, then! o/ Rosetta |
Landwing chapter 1 . 2/28/2010 The Impala...sigh. They don't make them like they used to. The modern ones can't hold a candle to the classics. I remember when the first season ended that there was almost as much concern for the Impala as there was for the Winchesters. And as you've expressed so many times in so many ways, the Impala has often been the only sure thing either Dean or Sam had in their lives. Cars are funny things. You need them to get around from place to place, but sometimes they're the only place you can truly escape. They require work and care and fuel, but somehow-even though they're technically just really big machines-they manage to give back to you when you need them. My car is where I de-stress, where I grieve, where I rejoice, where I talk on the phone the most, where I spend a pretty hefty chunk of time on my commute. My car warms me up, cools me off, keeps my darkest secrets, absorbs my tears, lets me sing as loud as I want, flies when I need him to (yes, my car has assumed a gender, too), enables me to pray without distraction, reassures me with his deep rumble, helps me outrun the world, and gets me safely home. I can't imagine my life without my car, and I've had him in my life way less time than the Winchesters have had the Impala. So, they're not people, they're not even animals, but...here's to all the cars that have ever been important in anyone's life, and most specially, here's to the Impala. Well done, Katalin. |
