Great start here, I very much enjoyed what you've written.

One nit pick: Klingon as a language wasn't heard until 1979 in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" (a total of 12 words) and only slightly more vocabulary was added in 1984. The language wasn't truly fleshed out until the mid to late 1990's.
