This is one of the rare times that the movie was superior to the book. I believe that was due to the actors' portrayals and the raw scenery, which brought the best of that book to life. True love is a choice; it's not a feeling. Ray clearly chose to love Livy and baby, sight unseen.

True, Livy wasn't impressed by the indoor plumbing Ray quickly installed before her arrival; however, a few months months later she was all smiles and excitement when he had a telephone installed.

Yay, I finally found my first fic for the movie! I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago for Skeet, and loved it.
