I was willing to accept the idiotic premise that the ancients for some stupid reason haven't all ascended and decided to educate some humans into modern technology.
I was willing to accept the absolutely moronic idea that once the colonials arrived on their planets they all magically forgot everything they learned and turned medieval.
I was even willing to accept all the bs about marriages and main characters being homo - after all military macho men it's the author's barely disguised fetish.
But the colonial speaking english and the terrans having absolutely incompetent leaders and pitiful tech is too much.
No wonder this story never got finished - not even the author could stand the stench in the end.

It always amazes me how in so many ff's societies that have evolved completely separately for thousands of years always end up having the exact QAM standards and using the exact same ADC, most likely mp3, for their radios. Or is it wma? The authors are never clear on that.
But they all agree that they all speak english, with a yankee accent.

I have a idea looking on the story given timeline it took to get the new 304 production line up the Russians could be getting there facilites rig for 303 production while a generation design late allow them to build a Prometheus class vessels and with recent refits as hyperspace pods will allow a Prometheus to carry 8 extra fighters matching a Daedalus class ship and Soviet design based Ship Killer missiles based on the old Shipwrecks could be loaded on the RFS Gargain the first Russian starship with the Korolev traded for Stargate later giving us 4 ships we need to cover the Milky Way with a second Russian Prometheus on the way to cover any losses till the Apollo and Phoenix.

The Russian Prometheus was built after the fact with many improvements and alterations as 3 will be built as the IOA establish the Anubis Mining Station to provide resources in the Solar System to Earth shipyards for fuel and material.

Prometheus class Battlecruisers mostly take up patrol and sentry duty as more Multimission Daedalus class Deep Space Carriers take up a number of missions.
