This is by far my favorite short story on these two. Very elegantly written, I may end up reading this 57 more times.

I love this. It's lyrical, elegant, and every stage is just long enough... it's almost like you're distilling the essence of each vignette into those few sentences.

I have to say that I actually just started playing ME, and it's entirely because of excellent fics like this one. Thank you so much for writing!

Again, I can give little more than praise for this piece of work. Your love of taking an idea and revolving an entire story around it, fleshing it out without drowning it out, amazes me. The way the titles of your work so accurately yet still poetically capitulates that idea... Splendid work, again.

If there is anything that possibly could warrant criticism, though, for the sake of perfection, I would have to point out that a stronger font style ought to be used for each "mask" in the chapter. I feel that italics is meant to de-emphasize the word it affects, which is why it's welcome to signify thoughts. Boldface would be nicer... in my opinion, of course.

Nothing I could say can take away the fact that your production values still exceed the other 99 percent of writers out there, hands down, though.

Wonderful story! You really captured the evolution and tone of their relationship here while also staying very much IC. Also, perfect pace and depth for a one-shot. I've been reading fanfic for a long time and I was thoroughly impressed with this one. Totally adding it to my favorites :)
