All right, this is my favorite! This shows the angst that Jake suffered and the only too human emotion of not "being good enough." Thank you for exploring, in depth, just what becoming Toruk Makto really meant, something more than just a new ride in the sky. I really like this. I'm looking forward to more of you work. Irayo. Your story is insightful and deep without tons of angst. I love the part about bonding with Toruk. It makes much more sense about why the Na'vi made such a big deal out of it.

Wow. Simply wow. When I started reading, I pretty much expected "yet another JxN romance". But the incredible emotional intensity of this story was totally unexpected. It is *so* evil of you to suggest this as a prequel to FSTL... well, I suppose I will finally have to read it, as I'm starting to like your writing style very much.

Anyway, this story makes a *beautiful* addition to the movie. As a "deleted scene", it fits perfectly and takes care of issues that definitely needed to be resolved. I'm also glad you've included the whole Toruk taming explanation, as that was something I missed in the movie as well. And the way it is all written... perfect job. Thank you.

Simply beautiful. Very well written. The chemistry between the characters is just so beautiful. I love it how Neytiri tells Jake to shut up. She fell for his stupidness. Gotta love that. Keep the great writing! :)

Wow! Loved it loved it loved it! You captured both of them so well! And I love the description, like the glow reflecting off of Jake's face, his hand against the glowing tree, the little touches between them. Very cool. You really captured alot of Jake's aspects (I especially like how he's still the "skxawng" in alot of ways, but like Neytiri observes, he's somehow different. I can totally see this working in with the movie. I've read FTSL and with this fanfic in mind I can see how much they love each other and for you to take that away...oh you are so cruel :(! It takes a good writer to elicit strong emotion and you definitely have with this one! Way to go!

I very much enjoyed this scene and your explanation of bonding with Toruk. It did always strike me as kind of hokey that he'd apparently bonded with Toruk so easily. Thank you!

Somehow, I just don't see Jake giving up. At the beginning of the movie, he said something along the lines of, "There's no such thing as an ex-marine. You might lose the job, but you never lose the attitude." And from what I know of marines, the words "quit" and "failure" aren't in their vocabulary. \

This was great. You could feel Jakes emotions as he beat himself up over what he'd done an the termoil he's going through. Same with Neytiri an the emotions she was going through. Great job.

This is an incredibly beautiful, well-written fic! I loved this to pieces, and the best part is that it's a deleted scene so it could have happened exactly this way! You wrote Neytiri so well, I really felt like I could see this happening between them as you wrote. One of my favorite parts was the way she noticed the change in Jake, how he had grown from bumbling learner to Toruk Makto, yet still remained that same old Jake on the inside. I could keep raving about this but I won't, just know that it was a pleasure to read and you are so talented! Also I loved Neytiri's "shut up" at the end. Shame on you, Jake, for teaching her earth slang!
