the way he overheard her conversation with Walter on the movie set and his passion in the acting scene and her teasing him about the "you pierce my soul" comment. perfection.

And the way you have it end with him supporting her at one of her movies. GAH.

So lovely. This is honestly one of the best modern-day Persuasion AUs I have read. Thank you for sharing.

AWWW. You capture the tone of the fic so beautifully, truly. I keep saying that but it's so wonderful how deftly you put them in this modern-day scenario that still rings so true to the spirit of the original text.

Just the way that Anne intuitively understands what Derick is feeling and just her social intelligence reading the situation completely correctly and her thinking how she had fallen in love with someone so stupid but that she loved him anyway.

AWWW.

OMG. What a chapter. The way you capture Anne's feelings at their abrupt reunion was so true to the tone of the book. How she tries to rationalize her feelings as silly even though she knows he was acting like the man who loved her and he was totally giving her subtext.

She is the definition of her own "half agony, half hope" right now. AWWW.

But that interview tho! Plenty of subtext to read into that one. ;)

awww, I love this interlude chapter of Anne figuring things out on her own.

Love that she's decided to pursue her music again and just try new things and I'm glad that Liam recognized the kiss was awful too.

I also just love Anne realizing that she'll always love Wentworth; it comes as naturally as breathing to her. that was a great line.

OMG. This chapter was sooo well done.

Louisa's friendly nature and Anne feeling young again and all pumped up from a successful performance that she agrees to go out and the bartender giving Anne a drink and Anne knowing Wentworth's drink order and Louisa drinking too much because of her jealousy over Benwick and the accident and Anne's careful thinking and OOOH.

You have a way of portraying those strong emotions so poignantly. I really felt Anne's pain. The ocean of resentments and regrets between them seeming too hard to overcome. All that's left unsaid.

I really love the way Anne and Frederick's relationship is portrayed in modern AUs. Her practicality comes through in a way that really resonates for today. Her telling him that she couldn't move with him was so painful and you capture Wentworth's hurt feelings of betrayal so well...it's sad that he can't even bear to hear her side of things but - just as in the novel - it's hard for him that she doesn't have the same faith in him and them and he feels it all so strongly that it breaks his heart that the intensity of his feelings on this aren't returned.

awww, Anne's moment of realization that he doesn't hate her and still respects her as an artist but that's all it can ever be is really beautifully written and a nice ode to the book.

Loved the line about how Wentworth was like a vortex. You capture the passionate nature of their young romance really well.

Awww, this is such a tender treatment of Anne. You portray her conflicted emotions and Wentworth's coldness really nicely.

Ugh that first meeting was honestly brutal. Poor Anne!

Thanks for your beautiful story. I find that I have returned to read it every now and then. Definitely the best adaptation of Persuasion that I have read.
