I've always wondered what if Dean just stayed in the djinn world. Like instead of stabbing himself, just go with it and stay.

I love this story! I also read your LJ version. I loved Carmen for Dean, probably because she truly was his dream girl and I want him to be happy. The end had me so torn! Part of me wanted him to be healthy, but part of me was sad he'd lose Carmen. I won't beg for a sequel, because I know sometimes it's hard if you're not feeling it as a writer, but I would read it if there ever is one.

Season 2 did really well with exploring "what could have beens" and the episode that you explored here was certainly one of the best. I always did hold out a little hope that we'll see Carmen in the future. I still kind of do, but it wouldnt be the same I suppose (I mean, look at the disaster that was Lisa). Thank you for being creative and writing this. It was very well done!

I can see both sides of the argument; on the one hand, Carmen ISN'T real, and Bobby and Sam are afraid Dean's inability to make that distinction will affect his hunting.

On the other, Dean can never catch a break, and Carmen makes him happy, and he deserves to be happy.

Anyhow, awesome story. I don't read a lot of the het on this site primarily because I can't stand most of the OC females created for the pairing, but this? This was wonderful. Thanks for writing it.

I loved this story. It is the only one I have seen with Carmen. What is and never should be is one of my favorite episodes and it was amazing to be able to read something involving someone from that. I loved the dynamic between Carmen and Dean in her short appearance on the show and I think you really nailed that. Great Job.

I can't believe it's finally ended! I've been waiting on pins and needles to see how it was all going to go down, and it still doesn't feel like it's over. I can't believe they got married, and he still see's her after everything that happened! You need to write a companion piece to this!

WHAT! i was totally not expecting that. i kinda feel bad for dean...he has to chose between his sanity/family or a fictional reality of love.
