Will you ever finish this story? I recently rediscovered it and I kinda wanna know how it ends. It’s such an amazing story and I really love the intrigue. You capture the characters perfectly, imo.

So it’s been five years since you’ve updated and perhaps you’ll read this message and it’ll spur you on. I’ve had this story recommended to me on numerous occasions but I always said that I would read it later and now that I’ve read it I’m quite angry at myself for not reading this masterpiece earlier.

I think that many Lumione authors downplay Lucius’ lack of morals, his sheer ambition, and just how power-hungry he is. That’s not to say that he is without his own principles, but his principles are not concerned with seeking the betterment of minority groups in the wizarding world, rather he wants a return to the status quo where Purebloods chiefly remain in power and he is the guiding hand behind that power (if you understand what I mean, my English is ghastly.) Often times, writers make Lucius regretful of his actions, stay away from positions of power, and wholly redeemable. I think you’ve wrote the most realistic portrayal of post-War Lucius: he’s still an elitist, a bigot that justifies his crimes, but he still remains the consummate Slytherin he always has been in seeking to adapt to this new world order and benefit from it all the same. I definitely believe anyone joining this ship as an avid reader or an inspiring writer should read this story as the standard for Lumione.

Another thing you’ve done excellently is realistically portray the post-War order. I never liked the popular notion that after the War t everything was fine, purebloods were treated like second-class citizens, and muggleborns occupied positions of power. If there was any sort of power vacuum in the post-War world, it would most likely benefit those with a modicum of power - which muggleborns lacked and Purebloods had in abundance. The notion that Purebloods wouldn’t be in power is an absurd one; take away the devout blood purity fanatics and you still have the apathetic and indifferent majority that most likely cares very little about Muggleborns - a majority that would most likely be in power after the war because of their neutrality and beneficial choice of not publicly supporting the Dark Lord. In this story you have that same exact scenario - where Hermione, a muggleborn, realizes that her vision of a wizarding world bereft of inequality will not come to pass ... yet.

I’m rambling so I’ll wrap this up. I know you wrote that you’re working on your own books (and I wish you well in that endeavour, you certainly have the talent for it) but I sincerely hope you choose to update this story. The Lumione community is very small, although we’re growing in numbers recently, and I think this story is up there with Eden in terms of relevance and quality for this fandom. I honestly believe that this fandom would benefit immensely from an update on this story and I really, really, really hope you update this story.

I've come back to story after reading some rather unrealistic portrayals of this pairing. I needed to get that bad taste of that out of my mouth and had to come back to this absolute gem of a fiction. And I feel just as much sadness that it lies incomplete as it was before. This entire story is brilliant, you've kept all the characters true to themselves and somehow made it possible for Lucius and Hermione to be a plausible. Heck I'm also rooting for Draco/Hermione, because that equally written so well, that if this fic went that direction, this would be a perfect set up.

Hope you are well since of course this story hasn't been updated in some time. As it goes with incomplete fictions like these, I can only have a small minute hope that you would update it and complete it. Anyway, again, hope you are still alive and well.

argghghghg this is so goood, i was actually surprised with young malfoy. I didn't expect it even though it was so obvious. Overall this is a very well-written realistic reproach to hermione/lucius. Most fanfics are too quick and show a very ooc malfoy; you don't.

Please please please update. I beg of you! You are much too talented to stop now! The story is amazing!

Yes! I'm pleased Narcissa had more dialogue finally; been waiting to have her bring up Lucius' attraction with Hermione I admit. You handled it very well.
I really like the idea of post-DH fics with Narcissa revealing that Draco has feelings for Hermione and THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE FOUND A FIC THAT DID IT THE RIGHT WAY; subtly for the reader to think about and Hermione totally oblivious. I can't imagine how Lucius would react if the woman he desired decided to get engaged to his son... Maybe that's another reason for him to encourage a union with the Greengrasses? To keep Hermione as an option for himself.

I can't wait for Harry to find out about the kiss... Please update and write that in! PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE?!

HOW CAN I CLICK ON THE NEXT CHAPTER NOW KNOWING THAT IT'S ALL THAT'S LEFT?! PLEASE BY SOME MIRACLE UPDATE! YOU HAVE EXTRAORDINARY WRITING TALENT. It's rare for me to find such an enticingly written Lumione fic. You are right to categorise it under 'Suspense'! Perfectly crafted. This chapter was a collection of all the things I wanted and more because it gave LESS. There was kissing but no overt kissing BACK from Hermione (not yet).

I love the tantalising way you have Lucius and Hermione move around each other. I really can't get enough of that cat and mouse thing... Delicious. ;) His last words OOOOOOH HOW THEY ECHO IN HER MIND (and mine). So now the truth is out - Lucius definitely finds Hermione bangable... Totally surprised he declined her help... Perhaps trading his price for some action? Oooh that comes close to prostitution though.

I know Hermione didn't kiss back but I really liked the kiss scene. I like a dominant, rough Lucius kissing hungrily... *melts*

I'm totally unsure about how to feel about Draco - like Hermione I felt he was being sincere til the reminder of what Lucius said... Hmm Draco could have an agenda... She must be annoyed at her husband for spending so much time secretively with Hermione and sending her and Draco away and not sharing information with them surely.
