I just binged this and it was so so good. I actually feel like I could see you progressing as a writer over six years as I worked through the chapters. You were excellent from the beginning, but there’s something I can’t find the words to describe that you achieved by the end with your prose. I really enjoyed your Lily characterization too. The plot itself was spectacular and I know this is a fic I’ll be rereading in the future. Thanks for sharing with us!

A fairly major Britpick here. Guy Fawkes was not a revolutionary, nor has he ever been considered one.
You are confusing him with V from V for Vendetta.

Absolutely amazing. I fell in love with your characterisations, especially how you managed to make Lily likeable and flawed, something which is rarely the case in most fan fiction.

Wow, what a fantastic story! How perfectly bittersweet. I LOVED getting to know Lily & the Maurauders better through it, & have absolutely absorbed this into my own head-cannon. It’s amazing to me that you worked on (& finished!) this for 6 years, & it really shows how much thought & research you put into it, what with the Fortescues & McKinnons & Prewetts. BrilliantI! Just reread this fic and was reminded of how absolutely incredible it is. The characterizations? Perfect. Writing? Sublime. Dialogue? Amazing. The whole fic? One of the best I’ve read. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this.

This upsets me...in the best way possible. I can literally see this all happening in canon. The progression of Lily and Sirius's relationship is perfectly paced and makes a lot of sense, as does her friendship with Remus and even Marlene (who I initially disliked but now respect). The foreshadowing destroyed me, though, Lily being told a friend would betray her and thinking it Snape, Sirius getting an O for predicting his own death...it HURT. Loved it, though, definitely one of my favourite Marauder era fics!

I always imagined Sirius and Lily becoming friends before Lily dates James. This story is on of the best.

I read this years ago and wrote an anonymous review. This fic is one of my favs so I had to come back and read it again.

“They stay loyal correspondents - and better friends - for the rest of their lives.”

I wanted to say that you lied. They weren’t correspondents for the rest of BOTH their lives. They weren’t correspondends for more than a third of Sirius’ life because Lily DIED. But it’s not true. Sirius stopped living the moment he the dead bodies of his friends. He stopped living the moment Hagrid refused to hand over Harry. Three people died that Hallowe’en night.

I’m emo now and it’s all your fault for writing this amazing story. I always believed Lily and Sirius were close. They became friends before Lily started dating James. This is a great portrayal of one way they could’ve become friends.
