AquaEclipse chapter 1 . 10/20/2018
I read this fic some time ago, and I finally found it again! Not bad at all, but it would be preferable to provide the Putonghua tones at least, if not the characters or even the translations. Makes things easier for the readers, and ups the word-count. Win-win.
Sardonyx Ichigo chapter 1 . 10/24/2011
ok, quick question-what does america actually say at the end in Chinese? just thought I'd ask
Artemis1000 chapter 1 . 3/19/2011
What a beautiful story! You described the parade so vividly and I love the interaction between China and America.
rhymey chapter 1 . 7/12/2010
Oh goooosh this is so cute. I love how you wrote both Yao and Alfred, and their interactions are so cute. The "Wang" thing, with the giant tiger float, made me smile. If I were Chinese, it probably would've been a smile of Chinese pride, but since I'm not, I think it was just Yao pride. xD At any rate, lovely little story~
blind-alchemist chapter 1 . 6/3/2010
I adored this; I could visualize the parade / celebrations as though they were occurring directly in front of me. Your characterizations of America and China were very good; the dialogue was realistic and funny, and not heavy-handed in the least.

On top of that, a very heartwarming story, with real emotions of bittersweetness and real joy. Thank you for uploading!
Dontmezwitme chapter 1 . 3/14/2010
I UNDERSTOOD SOME OF IT! *flails*

I-had no idea what China was saying in the fourth line though.

But-but-but I still think it's awesome D

It's a great story~!
Lalalalala-Land chapter 1 . 3/13/2010
I love the story;

it so effectively expresses the emotional ties that

immigrants still have with their motherlands...
Sexykill69 chapter 1 . 2/20/2010
I loved this I went to a parade like that today.

This story was quite woinderful and expressed so much.
Lady Charity chapter 1 . 2/15/2010
Chinese-Americans unite! XD

Ahh, I felt nostalgia when I read this story. I haven't seen a dragon dance in ages...I feel so accomplished because I understood the Chinese conversation. My parents would be proud :P.

"Hair like the ocher sun"...very interesting. I like that. Ocher. Oh. I also like the description where America is like a smear of pastel upon pure paper. It's colorful. No pun intended.

Aww, such a hurt/comfort ending. Like, it's sort of sad but not the sad that makes you want to be emo, but a sad because it's rather happy.

I never heard of anyone saying that Chinese people eat only fried chicken...I do hear a lot of people say Chinese only eat fried rice though.

America is so cheerful and childish in here! You got his character down well.

I thought it was sweet how China wanted to know if his people would be all right and safe in America's hands. America was so confident when he gave the answer too! I thought it was quite touching. It's sort of like, "Aww, China cares about us still..."

I'm friends with a couple Wangs as well. According to my dad, there are only several different surnames in China because back in the day emperors used to kill every single person with a certain surname they didn't like, thus cutting down the variety...

This story was very nice to read. I don't think I've seen a fanfiction yet where America and China interact alone (either that or I never bothered to look). This was a good story to read for Chinese New Year~

新年快乐!

I really hope I got that right...
Idiotichobo chapter 1 . 2/14/2010
That was a wonderfully written story 8D Correct me if I'm wrong but do I detect a Beijing accent in Yao's speech? xD Now to read more of your stuff *skips off gleefully*
mangospoons chapter 1 . 2/14/2010
