I like this observation about Tony's response: "Instead of pity, though, she saw patience. She saw understanding. She saw love." And I like the idea of the colors of the world, the variety, being what Tony holds onto, and his assertion (quiet rightly) that black-and-white thinking is what ruled Ziva's life and sent her to hell and keeps them apart. I like how you've expanded on the warehouse scene without the typical actual talking-it-out (which I think they'd still have eventually, but that doesn't necessarily have to be the starting point) and shown them talking around a topic, which is so very them and very much the show...and so very hard to do with flair...but you captured it. I like how you have them acknowledge that they've only ever broken the rules when it comes to each other...out of love. Very VERY nice.

I love this - the style, the tone, the spot-on characterizations. You managed to maintain Tony's charm and snark while Ziva softened without losing any of her edge, without letting her walls down...completely. Sweet. :)

Probie reviewer here! I too, am suspicious of an established TIVA in the show, and it makes me all happy inside. Did you notice the arrival at work together? The pause when McGee asked where Ziva was? Oh yes, my friend, I too, love established Ziva, and I love your fic as well, giving us scenes we could only imagine before you put pen to paper (so to speak). I love the scene where tony talked about how his color was gone when he thought she was dead.
