Wesley Adkins chapter 5 . 2/16 I would just like to say that I spent my day (and loved it mind you) reading this story, there was just so much detail and human interaction with your characters. I loved the way that you showed the Spartans Human qualities as well as their disciplined attitudes. All in all I would read a sequel if you put one out, ill make sure to get my Scotch ready as I sit net to the fireplace |
gabe.d.clark.1997 chapter 1 . 3/10/2019 ...Well, acid blood would probably make Xenomorphs resistant if not immune to Flood infestation? Because I can't think of another other reason in Halo where you'ed want to actually take a ship filled with them and then intentionally release them on a planet, and I'd find it odd if the Engineers were entirely unaware of it considering their tech-base and age (there's a theory that the planet they seeded in Prometheus wasn't Earth but rather Planet 4 from Alien: Covenant, but it'd still take a long time). Though that's probably not relevant to the actual story. |

Junior VB chapter 1 . 8/7/2017 Los abrazacaras son feos. - Facehuggers are ugly. |
Jaal Ama Darav chapter 5 . 4/18/2016 What a great story! Feels like it could be in the Halo universe, fits so well that it could easily have happened somewhere, sometime in Halo... After all, the galaxy is big, really, really big. |
Jaal Ama Darav chapter 4 . 4/18/2016 Sneaky...almost too sneaky. Another very good chapter, just one more... |
Jaal Ama Darav chapter 3 . 4/18/2016 Very good so far. The Covenant team is done for...either dead or going to be dragged to the lair for facehuggers... (was away and caught up in stuff, going to finish the story. Don't want to leave it half read. ) |
Hawkcam1996 chapter 5 . 3/20/2016 Great story. So in this, did the Mala'kak really make the Xenomorphs to fight the Elites, or did they make them to fight the Predators(like in some of the books), and you just made them think the ancient aliens made them to fight the Elites, and the Elites just were unfortunate enough to have also faced them before? If so, you could make a great sequel with Predators in it. |
Jaal Ama Darav chapter 2 . 2/28/2016 This is creepy and tense... |
Jaal Ama Darav chapter 1 . 2/28/2016 Aliens and Halo crossover? Awesome! Onto the next chapter! |
Reading a Pulse chapter 5 . 1/14/2015 Having finished this delectable slice of sci-fi horror, I salute you, G. Langland, for the meticulous care you took in its creation. You've Shown Your Work in both the Halo and Alien continuities, and even pulled off one of the novels' neatest tricks (switching to Covenant perspective) to great effect. The only criticisms (and they're minor ones) I have are that it wouldn't make sense for the Covenant segments to mention human designation of their respective species ("which the humans called Jackals," etc.). The Elites HATE humans naming things. I understand the desire to make the story accessible to casual Halo fans who don't know what an "Unggoy" is, but in this case such matters are best left to Wikipedia. Also, while I understand the rationale for making this a prequel (the xenomoprhs won't seem so alarming to someone who's already fought off the Flood), it does somewhat dampen the suspense, since Master Chief and Linda's survival are assured. But those two critiques pale in the face of an intelligent, action-packed and at times genuinely disturbing fanfic. Bravo. Given that you haven't written new fic in over four years, chances are you've moved on. That's okay, but in case you do read this, I wish you well in whatever it is you do now. |
Reading a Pulse chapter 1 . 1/14/2015 Absolutely amazing. Plenty of nuggets of Halo lore conveyed in a way that even someone unacquainted with the universe can understand what's going on, and more importantly, gives them a reason to care. The characterization is straight out of the novels, and the series of grisly discoveries in the Mayberry is genuinely tense. That's not easy to do when readers like myself already know what the Spartans will be up against, and variations of this scene have been done and re-done constantly in the Aliens universe whenever someone unacquainted with xenomorphs encounters them for the first time. But this time, it's well-crafted enough to work in a way I find frustratingly hard to articulate. I guess it's just because I don't get the sense that the author's going through the motions. |
