Is Chuck going to be able to put 2 and 2 together now that Ellie called him, and will Casey be upset that she went outside his direct order to call Devon and called Chuck as well?

GREAT chapter! And again, the voices are perfect.

Lester and Jeff were spot on, and Chuck's immediate reaction to their get-ups - "Jake . . . Elwood" - so like him, as was his fairly quickly figuring out Casey's not sick and is out.

Your General Beckman is on the money as well. I could actually see her issuing orders in that threatening way she has and shifting in her chair.

Also liked peeking in on Quinn's doings, seeing what he's up to.

And while I know this story isn't Jellie, "I never kid about my gear" had me shivering too. That really was so Casey, even in this slightly AU context. Also love how he's taking care of her, making sure she eats, promising a better dinner than the vending machine fare they're eating for lunch. And I really like that she's able to joke a bit (spy gear and synchronizing their watches)-shows she does trust him.

"... I'll never be more than a whisper away."

Uh-huh.

I loved Ellie's self-protection thought processes at the beginning of this, going from "This is a dream" to "This is a movie." You've got Ellie's voice and character down really well, too, which I think would be difficult. Of everyone on the show, she's the most nondescript. I think it's because she's the most "normal" personality. And she's such a stable personality. She's also that mix of strength with a little bit of a whiner. I like her character, but there it is.

And John Casey is always thinking on his feet. I like that about him and how you've captured it here.

Again, really enjoying this.

Well THAT came to a head quickly. But, I guess if you're a mercernary and probably getting half up front and half when the job's finished, you take the first opportunity.

Again, the voices are perfect. The Morgan and Chuck sequence was great, right down to the game-speak. You even have the opening "Here's a couple of things you might need to know ..." It's like watching a long, very satisfying episode.

I've been reading my way through the completed Jellie fics and wanted to save this series for last.

Your grasp of the voices of these characters is amazing! All of them-Chuck, Morgan. And your Jeff and Lester had me laughing out loud. And you got end-of-S3 Casey just right instead of dropping S1 Casey (There IS a difference.) in the middle of a S3 story.

I can tell I'm really going to enjoy this!

I absolutely and utterly adore this fic! I love that you've picked up on details and mannerisms of the characters, but mostly I love that you had a funny and perfectly in-character B-story at the Buy More for Jeffster. They had me in knots! I'm so looking forward to the rest of your Chuck stories.

Great chapter. Particularly the stuff at the end where Ellie “admits the truth”. Oh and Casey’s talk with Beckman. I won’t be surprised if I find myself rereading this again some time. But for now there’s still one more to go...

Overall this story has been a fantastic read. Almost done, but there’s a few chapters still to go. Then, of course, there’s the sequels! Thanks again for filling me in.

Not quite what I was expecting but I enjoyed this! The spy stuff at the Buy More, chaos at the conference, and Ellie’s phone call home. So sweet!

This was a tricky chapter. In the wrong creative grasp it could have seemed forced or clumsy, but you really pulled it off. Not a single misstep. I’m guessing it took a lot of effort to get everything just right. If so, it was worth it! Nicely done.
