This is a very well written one shot; it reads as of it could have been written by L.M. Montgomery even though it wasn't. I enjoyed it to say the least.

Loved this idea, poor old Lofty John - it gives an even better explanation for the feud. Mind you, it would take a brave man to marry Aunt Elizabeth, even if she is a bit of a softie (very) deep down. I like the reference to Anne and Gilbert here - it reminded me a bit of Marilla saying she had once been in love with Gilbert's father.
