I loved this story! Especially the cultural references it added a lot to the story. This was great! Will there be a second chapter? It isn't necessary this is a great oneshot, I was just wondering.

Loved this one. I guess I just like New Year stories that include shrine visits. That, and I liked the general progression of this story.

I'm happy that the story pays attention to Japanese culture and gets it's facts right. Stories where the author doesn't even try bother me, so it's good that you made the effort.

There were a lot of moments and ideas I enjoyed: Ulquiorra's blunt compliment that is reminiscent of Orihime's stay in Las Noches, how she loses her key and he tells her that perhaps they should get rid of the spare one so that she will pay more attention or when Orihime forcefully keeps herself from peeking at him to see if he's praying.

Funnily enough I also thought of a similar job for Ulq when I wondered what he could do in the human world. Makes sense given that he has gaps in his education that he might have trouble filling fast.

His reason for no taking up Orihime's invitation also shows that he is still a loner and that things between him and the nakama are still strained. Of course, it also shows that he has become considerate of Orihime's feelings.

I also adored how she teased him about his fortune. Ulq is so in control that I enjoy it whenever she gets a rise out of him. The slight bit of humor he showed at the temple and how happy it made Orihime was also adorable.

Naturally, the last scene at the appartment made me also very happy. The best part was how Orihime wouldn't let go of his hand because she feared that he might just close off himself from her and then how she blocked the door to apologize to him. Ulquiorra running his fingers through her hair also seems to be almost a kink of mine, so I approve.

Heh, the ending was nice, too.

Gotta say that from your two most recent stories this one is my favorite. I liked all te cultural stuff and it just contained a lot of things that I like to see in Ulquihime fics.
