You included this one moment - where she stood there and couldn't believe the term wife was now hers. And he was so dumbfounded along that it would from now pn be in every day use. And that SO resonated with me,.because that was the exact flabbergasted, amazed feeling I had that day after my wedding. Weeks after, even! What am I saying, months! And now, years later, we still look each other from time to time, and it feels surreal for a moment that this wonderful person decided to commit himself to me and allowed the world to let me call him husband. And while I can't quite relate on a personal level to that end bit in your story (my husband took my name, so I never had that moment where I felt my old self was coming to an end - because I wad afraid of that very thing and my husband was not) I can at least relate to the notion that life does change a lot as you find this wonderful person to share it with, married or not, and extremly for the better. This was a joy to read, as was this story overall, and I want to congratulate you on finishing a story you started so long ago. It's a gift to fandom. Thank you so much for it! |
