Stormcutter684 chapter 1 . 9/28/2015 Raw emotion, angst, true deep friendship ... My god, Mellon nîn. You have me in tears. I seriously thought Legolas would leave, leaving a grief-stricken King back on Shore. Thank Elbereth you are not that cruel! I am completely in tears. This story is heart-stoppingly beautiful. My gosh. All your ther stories are truly wonderful, but this story will hold a special place in my heart. A fabulous job, Mellon nîn. Hannon le. Hannon le. |
thunderstorm-skald chapter 1 . 5/5/2014 THE FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELS! |
BakerStreetIsLastRefugeOfHope chapter 1 . 12/3/2011 A great story. Very well written. |
Wolf of the Dawn chapter 1 . 2/6/2011 Oh! I think I cried! Well, I did cry, but let just keep that bit of info to ourselves, hmmm? Anyway, this is hard to say, cos I don't think your story merits critism and you CAN'T stop writing! But I also think Critter Chitter sort of had a point. I'm not saying it was over the top, but maybe a little less... dunno *trails off unhelpfully* well, they sort of did act very affectionate to the same gender back then, and I don't think it's THAT slashy. Do with that what you will! Beautiful story, I'm going to go read some of your others now. :) |
DreamingIn2Eternity chapter 1 . 9/10/2010 Great job I love your writing! Keep up the fantastic work! |
Mkitkat chapter 1 . 8/28/2010 Aww. I love the dramatics with this :) I loved how it tugged on my heart strings and I love the detail that you put into it and how you really foccused on that quote because it really deals with the story after the book is done. It's a bittersweet ending because you know that Legolas eventually has to leave Aragorn but it won't be for a long time. :) |
Booknerd101 chapter 1 . 3/21/2010 oh my god... you nearly made me start crying :') that was powerful and beautiful and you're an amazing writer! |
StarLight9 chapter 1 . 2/24/2010 Aw! Mellon nin, this was beautiful! My heart melted! Sniff! You have perfectly portrayed this incredible friendship and have shown that the call of the heart is indeed greater than the call of the sea. And your Arwen was perfect too. And Legolas gave Aragorn the best gift possible! Wonderful ending! I have to say it once again - I'm very glad that you started to write! Now I am looking forward to your longer story! From what I have read, I would certainly say that you have the talent to finish it. If you need any advice or feedback about the plot, don't hesitate to ask ;) About my own story in progress, it will be continued of course. I've been occupied with other things recently, but I have never before left a story unfinished, and I do not intend to do so now. |
Midnight Promise chapter 1 . 1/25/2010 Beautiful! I love how you described the relationship between the two! Brilliant! Never, ever, have someone tell you that you should not write again - the beauty of writing is that you can always improve. Have more confidence, my friend, in your amazing talents. :D There were some grammar mistakes, and long run-on sentences. While using ['twas, 'twould, etc.] adds some spice, how those words were used disrupted the flow of the sentence and pulled the reader back out of the story. You need to definitely write again; maybe when Legolas and Estel met when he was small? ;) The result of writing such a good piece is that the readers want more! ;) The raw emotions expressed by the two was perfect, I love a good friendship/angst fic involving these two! Great job, looking forward to more from you! Hope your week is going great, Midnight Promise |
invisigoth3 chapter 1 . 1/24/2010 Nice story, it took the pains of both sides staying and leaving very well. I think you should write more |
critter chitter chapter 1 . 1/24/2010 Well, I don't think you should STOP writing, but you definitely need to practice more. There is a lot of unnecessary description here (purple prose) that takes away from the story. But what threw me out the most was the slashy nature of the story. I don't mind slash, but when friendship fics border on it simply by going overboard with emotionalism and touchy feely moments... Well, I'd rather it either be one or the other. At the end I thought they would end up having sex on the beach. Men don't act this way. I know you are reaching and trying to evoke an emotional response to this but its over the top and that is why it takes on a slashy feel. I think you should find a beta to help you curb this overemotionalism tendency and to help you get rid of some purple prose. |
Heki564 chapter 1 . 1/24/2010 Wow... This is really good and very well written! Great job! |
ziggy3 chapter 1 . 1/24/2010 This was enoyably tense. There were some really good bits in it- 'It began to stir. The waves of longing, slowly, yet steadily began to boil within his heart, and more often did the cries of the gulls echo in his mind. ' really struck me. And I think you got Gimli nicely- I had a very clear image of him pottering about the ship. It would be good for you to get a beta I think if you are going to write more so someone else had pointed out errors or made suggestions about how you can improve it, but I think you have a good eye for creating visual descriptions if that makes then… |
