This is an insult to both me and the d/Deaf community. I hated this. It was horrible. If you write something like this, try not to make fun of the d/Deaf.

...I don't even know what to say about how bad this was. Delete this and free the fandom from Sues and OCCness.

Emily the Deaf Kid? Really? REALLY?

Titles are extremley important. They are the first thing a potential reader sees, and sometimes is the reason they read the story.

Now, making your title 'Emily the Deaf Kid' is an extreme turn-off.

When I saw this story, I thought it was a cruel joke about people with hearing disabilities!

Delete this, get a beta, and PM me if you ever need help on titles.

Let's go over everything that is so incredibly wrong in the first two chapters.

A daughter of Poisedon? Big whoop. I do not care. No one does becuase it's so overused. Please hun, be original. Percy's half-sister? Snore.

Deaf? Okay, that's not too bad. Why is she deaf? I doubt that a demigod can get a birth defect, so I'll assume it happened in an accident of some sort, or illness. Please explain.

You mentioned John impressing people with his smartness. Knowing that someone who is deaf cannot hear is not smart, it's common sense. Okay? Not smart. He was pretty stupid to even confirm the definition of 'deaf'.

... She doesn't have dyslexia because that would be UNFAIR? Are you kidding? Life isn't fair. It doesn't go eay on you just because it takes pity on you.

Lastly, Emily is a Mary-Sue.

This story embarases me for you.

I liked Emily's prank! That was very clever. And very funny! I can almost picture it..Connor got what he deserved. Something confused me in the last chapter, though-You said Emily loves the sea, but she's scared of water, which is a bit contradictory. Sorry.

Anyway I really like this. I like Emily being sarcastic and her character. The first chapter was a brilliant introduction as well, by the way, showing us some of her character straight away and elaborating later.

I don't mean to be rude or offend you but I would like the point out that your title could be offensive to those with hearing disabilities. I did think that when I first read it but I got distracted by the great story...Oh, and I don't think Emily is a Sue, I think people see what they want to see. If they want to see a Mary Sue, they will, even if your character isn't like that really.

Please do write more soon, and don't let the rude reviews dishearten you!
