The only bit I don't buy is the half clothed against the wall thing. They are victorians. I think they've both got more restraint than that, particularly given that they're under pressure.

that was beautiful. It actually made me appreciate that scene because I found it a little lackluster (the fault of the writers not Amanda and Chris). But your story here really makes me rethink the scene. Love it now. Great job. The part where you talk about them up against the wall, whoa that was hot and in so few words..but it was so full of love too. You should think about doing a companion piece to this but from Helen's point of view. Favouriting this fyi.

I was kind of crying when I read the last sentence. Even on the show, I knew the moment he came back, it wouldn't be the last anyone saw of him. That story was amazing! Excellent.
