You are a great writer!

I am thoroughly enjoying your fan fic. I really like the idea of pairing Brenda and Dante together. I think that they have some amazing chemistry. It is so believable and from your story it comes across as sweet.

Please I beg you. Do not turn this into another SnB story. I have been searching this site for a Dante/Brenda and there are only two. You are doing a fantastic job. Dante really relates well to Brenda and she is so genuine with him. She helps him in ways that he does not even recognize and its wonderful to read about.

I caught up on the last two chapters and ironically your story makes me feel exactly the same about Sonny and Brenda as the show does. They are a couple whose time has come and gone and sometimes there is indeed an expiration date on love. Though the show of late has regressed Brenda into some sort of mindless, giddy Bridezilla, when she first returned she was a much more believable character. She was wounded by life but she had survived those traumatic events and carved out a niche that was appropriate and worthwhile with her involvement in the charity to help exploited children. That Brenda understood how Sonny was not only not good for her but that their moral codes had moved to opposite ends of the spectrum. She, in other words, had outgrown him. Sonny, on the other hand, is just older and while he may loudly bemoan the things which happen to his children he also never seems to undertake the hard work of changing his life so that those things are unlikely to recur. On the show at this moment, I feel the characters deserve one another but last August and in your story, I think that Brenda was right to reject him even if it was painful for her to do so.

Also, I have a hard time accepting Dante and Brenda because again I feel that it's not just a case of them being separated solely by age but also by lfie experience and maturity. Brenda with Jax makes sense to me at this point where they both are in life.

I liked the sequence where Brenda described her evening at the Roman restaurant as her illustration of a perfect moment and how they just occur and can't be planned or even captured outside of memory. You always do a fabulous job of evoking Italy. I was surprised at Spinelli's lack of protection of his unguarded laptop, how serendipitous for Dante!

One thing I do enjoy about this story is that it's an umbrella story with all these individual events happening and each person or group of people think that it only affects them but in reality they are all intertwined because it's becoming clear that Rudy is the common element to each story. I liked the moment when Sonny and Dante met illustrating the paternal feelings which Sonny's eyes exposed and then the natural switch to jealousy and suspicion when Brenda's name entered tne conversation. I liked this imagery: It was in that wordless play of skin on skin

Really good chapter. Especially liked the Dante/Sonny stuff and the appearance of Rudy. Things are getting interesting. I'm a big Lante fan but given that they aren't together in this story I don't really have an issue with Dante's interest in Brenda (loathe even the suggestion it on show though).

I wasn't sure about the Dante/Brenda thing but I really like your story I think you have done a great job and I will be watching out for more!

Two hot topics for many fans of the show arise in this story, the first is that Jason chose his life of crime over claiming Jake. The second is that here Brenda is outraged at Sonny shooting Dante in the chest rather than simply accepting it as something he would just do in the course of his daily life, that same life Jason chose over Jake. It's a case of consistently choosing death over life.

I like the way that you don't forget to move the story along by having the traditional Jaspin phone call interrupt Brazen's talk.

Thank you so much for giving Brenda a reaction to Sonny shooting Dante! Her apathetic attitude toward it on the show was so horrible! I mean WTF? He SHOT an unarmed cop at point blank range, who happened to be his son and someone she'd cared about in the past. How could she act like it was no big deal. *shakes head* Glad to see you're still working on this! Looking forward to the next chapter!

Loving it

This is the only fic I'm reading so I hope you keep it going :)

Everyone seems to hate the pairing of Johnny and Olivia for some reason but I actually rather like it. They are very sweet and caring with one another and while there is definitely a maternal vibe coming from Olivia toward Johnny that is just the type of woman she is. Since Johnny lost his mother under brutal circumstances at the age of six maybe that isn't such a bad aspect to have incorporated into their relationship.

I can't say I love Nina Simone without qualification because sometimes she goes to places musically where I don't want to follow but I always respect her and there are certain songs by her that I entirely adore. Nice choice for the musical backdrop, something mature and true to the tangled and complex nature of Dante and Brenda's irresistible connection to one another...

Another great chapter. I'm still a Lante fan mind you but I'm enjoying this AU despite that. I love that song, although my favorite version is the Christy Moore one.

It was refreshing to see a scene between Spinelli and Sam as they worked together. Now they are hot on Rudy's trail and soon all the disparate threads will become entangled. The scene between Dante and Brenda where they discussed the Roman glass had a very authentic feel to it. Brenda's reminiscing about her days in Rome as she explored the city gave the story a strong sense of place. I also noticed it in the prior chapter when they discussed Italy. Nicely done...

I'm so glad you picked this up again. I loved the Dante/Brenda idea back when you started it and have been so excited to see hints of it on screen. I'm really hoping we'll get to see it play out on the show, but I'm not holding my breath. So I'm happy to have your story to feed the addiction! :-P
