And I love that distinction between Zoe Alleyne and Zoe Washburne I have this whole elaborate backstory for Alleyne where she had this long lost first husband when she was super young who took her last name and looks remarkably like Jason Statham and they've presumed the other's dead since the war and don't find out otherwise til they run into each other while she's on a job and pregnant post-Serenity Ok let me shut the fuck up about my fantasy what I meant to say's i'm obsessed with both Zoes and I appreciate your Zoe appreciation A LOT

Re-reading this for the thousandth time and it's as magnificent as ever! I was trying so hard not to comment cause each review'd be a essay gushing about your writing and quoting your own work back to you (Also I'm not even logged in right now) but I can't help myself with this chapter! The way you write everybody's amazing of course but I forgot these Zoe moments here - it's a work of art - the best depiction/portrayal of her i've read in the fandom!

Honestly Riddick should have called Inara out there at the end. She's such an arrogant bitch lol. Completely full of shit.
She disapproves of relationships not based on the people, but based on what she wishes she could have in a man in other circumstances.
The way you've written the characters have R/R and J/K all but fucking perfect for eachother, and of course Inara disapproves. Inara helps River make Riddick jealous and that's just fine. Riddick makes River jealous and Inara throws a fit and "disapproves." Says she'll be honest about her opinion that she disapproves like that fucking matters at all haha.
She sees the girls as she wishes them to be and the guys and her petty imagination sees them as. Just as you write R/R underestimating her at first, Inara underestimates them and doesn't ever bother to correct her initial assumptions.
Sickening characters are sickening.

Trying to manipulate the guy you like through jealousy is disgusting, and honestly should push Riddick away. Inara is far from a genius.

Iirc Riddick was always rather well spoken. Pretty jarring to read how massively you've shifted his voice. Slang and all that is one thing, all the mashed up words though is just odd coming from him.
