Sheppardlover928 chapter 1 . 9/21/2018
Reread after several years...again, excellent story! Lots of Shep Whump, team angst and best of all..John Sheppard at his military best...what a resourceful guy! Gene sure was a formidable soldier but no match for our fave soldier!
namewithak chapter 1 . 9/12/2017
I'm certain I've left a comment here before (with an old account) but it bears repeating: this story is absolutely fantastic. One of those classic stories I keep coming back to after all these years. The way you write Sheppard and the team is great, they are so perfectly in character. And the way you write tension and action is incredibly effective. I am so jealous.
Aguirre chapter 1 . 5/22/2017
One of my favourite stories of all time! Fantastic characterisation, plot, suspense, realism and whump. You are an incredible writer.
Southerncross1 chapter 1 . 1/22/2016
I have now read this several times and it seems to get better and better. Characters are true, plot progresses at a fast pace and suspense builds. Great story! Please write more.
sheppardlover928 chapter 1 . 12/29/2013
Ah! One of the best things about FF...I keep finding wonderful stories I haven't read before! This was an excellent Shep whump story with him overcoming unmeasurable odds! Gene sure was a formidable opponent and I love that only Sheppard was able to outwit and outdo the "perfect soldier"...fantastic look at John's resourcefulness and determination!
Xochil chapter 1 . 7/20/2013
Really enjoyed this one. John Sheppard the Urban Legend lives on! Thanks, good writing.
Guest chapter 1 . 8/20/2012
What a ride! This was an amazing story. Vivid and real, and an absolutely perfect portrayal of Sheppard. It's easy to be fooled by the laid back attitude he projects most of the time, but he's scary competent and determined when he has to be and you nailed that here.

The rest of the team was also well written, and your baddie was excellent. Both human and utterly inhuman and downright scary.

Thanks so much for sharing this!
RavenWeavesTales chapter 1 . 6/18/2012
Holy crap this was a wicked read! *iz a proud whumper* Ya whumped Shep so prettily. Your stories are always well written and thought out and this one was no exception. You portrayed John using his considerable intelligence in a desperate but calculated bid to survive and keep Gene from his team. Very well done. Good on ya. Cheers! }:O

SlippedHalo8186 chapter 1 . 3/9/2012
Brilliant, what more can I say- Hmmmmm well not to be one to go away quietly...that was Bloody brilliant *big smile* Holy crap the home made explosives where spot on (that really works you know) right up my alley. Love the story, love you for writing it, love Sheppard-just because, love the team, love whump, love comfort, Love..well I don't love everyone but still.
scifi-karis chapter 1 . 1/16/2011
I really, really enjoyed this one! Well done! :-)
clerical medical chapter 1 . 12/23/2010
This was brilliant. I love the home made explosives stuff - that was very cool indeed, and the idea of the Marines using the mission report as a training manual. Any story that makes me think 'if I ended up in a dangerous situation, John Sheppard would be the person I'd want to be stuck with' is a good story in my books...
serphimera chapter 1 . 8/13/2010
. .

Every time I come up on one of your stories I am sucked in immediately and without any chance of escape before I just stumble over the last few words and fall to the ground, breathless. You are such a talented writer, your characterisation is just perfect and I really love the originality of your plots!

Ok, maybe this sounds a little bit like flattering, but I am really impressed how you can organize a story so perfectly to build up that huge amount of suspense that keeps the reader so much in touch with the plot and the charcters.

Not to mention your nice Terminator clone GENE here he was so loveable scary and determined. To bad hes two times dead Hed been a really impressive and terrifying villian...

Ok, and last but not least (there would be much more to be said, but I am already watching out for another story of yours... I guess I am getting addicted...) I just loved the whump! Thanks!
Reius Devirix chapter 1 . 2/17/2010
HOLY. MOTHER. OF. GOD. I LOVE YOU!

This is one of the most well-written Sheppard pieces I've ever read. Definitely in my top 10 of best Stargate fics ever. You're my favorite SGA author, you know. Seriously, you're so good at showing the qualities in Sheppard that interests me the most: extreme competency and terrifying determination. I think "The Eye" and "The Storm" were entire episodes of defining moments in identifying what it was about Atlantis, in general, and Sheppard, in particular, that I liked the most. Your works represent pretty much my entire view of Atlantis. You're awesome!

One thing about this fic, though... I wish you'd given Radek more of a role to play. Haha, funny thing about being a fan of SGA and SG-1: I loved the original SG-1 team then pretty much stopped watching after O'Neill left. On the other hand, I was pretty indifferent to SGA's core team except for Sheppard. I found McKay and Teyla boring. Ronon, too. And to a lesser extent, I guess Ford. The ones that kept me watching (aside from Sheppard) were the multitude of interesting (to me, at least) side/background characters. I love reading fics that have Sheppard interacting with people like Radek, Miko, Lorne, or any other people aside from those in main cast. I really don't know why. This is also why I'm in love with your zombie fic (don't remember how to spell the latin title).

Anyway, this has gotten quite long so just one last thing: NEVER STOP WRITING, PLEASE!
