I really like the way you open this story - Bill preferring to watch and assess makes sense. His thoughts on the various people he was watching was nicely done. I loved this run on words: "And so he would have killed her, if his body hadn’t failed him. But it did and he didn’t. Maybe one day he would be relieved by that fact." It describes the moment and carries the speed of that moment beautifully. Thanks for a very enjoyable read!
