Thank you for writing this. Quite frankly, I think I prefer your story to the major blow-up they had in series. Obviously, it worked out, sort of. Still, I prefer this uneasy alliance forged through mutual understanding. :)

As a newcomer to SGU, I just recently finished watching the all-too-short series. Rush is my favorite character so I really loved this fic.

This one was truly enjoyable. The sarcastic repartee between the two men was realistic. It's wonderful to see how they try to match wits with each other. Rush is like the rogue son and Young is the father that constantly have to haul him back. The hint of sexual attraction that neither wants to admits add a great deal of tension between the two. I really enjoyed this and hope that you will write much more. Kisses!

This story was very well written. I was caught up in the entire thing and am forced to beg for more at the end. _ I do hope that this just doesn't end here. I would love to read more.

Well, well, well! What an amazing little gem of a story. Your characterization was perfect. Not to mention there was just the right amount of whumpage. Too bad 'Justice' had to happen, right? :P

But I'm sure that Rush and Young will get to this point...eventually. ;)

Good story! I think that you respected the characters very well. Not many people could have guessed the mid-season finale - I didn't imagine Young acting like that for a sec. But that's what makes the show so interesting, isn't it?

This was a strong and entertaining oneshot. Characterization was pretty good, but I especially enjoyed the motif of touch that you used throughout the piece. That's one a very prominent thing in my mind about Rush - he rarely touches or is touched. The one time when he and Eli saved the shuttle, and Colonel Young clapped him on the back as he left, Rush turned and looked at him like '...the heck?' For some reason, that had a very powerful effect on me.

I think their loyalty argument was quite good, too. After what happened in Justice, as soon as Rush mentioned Colonel Young's affair I tensed. Young seems to have an issue with controlling himself emotionally. He beat up Telford, too.

Kind of interesting to have a few points made that Rush might trust others once in a while. But as he said, there haven't been too many people who've seemed to be trustworthy - to him.

OMG, that was absolutely gorgeous. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I loved Young's patience, his steadfastness, his sense of who he is and what needs to be done. And I loved Rush's snottiness, egging Young on, like the unruly child who causes nothing but problems and doesn't know he does it because he's starved for attention and a caring mind. Their voices are all true to character, I could "hear" them say the words. Very cool.

Minor nit pick: "Young immediately caught him again with a vice-like grip on each arm." The proper word is "vise-like". Easy fix! ;-) May I rec this on the Young/ Rush LJ comm? Thanks for sharing - I loved this story.

I concur with Ladypredator, their characters were true to the cannon version. I also enjoyed the bye play between Young and Rush. Hopefully, you'll make this more than just a one shot.

Really enjoyed this. It read very true to character for both of them. Nicely done and clearly, smoothly written.
