Coming from a guy named Tern who has characters S'bird, S'egal, Dodo... meh. Change the names. Surely there were some bullies in your school to pick from?

"They've been kidnapped to cotton mill." Then we jump from Scotland Yard back to Baker Street in mid-paragraph.

Mrs. Tern? NOOOOOOO! ;- Bird names I get, but THAT strikes too close to home! Plus the naming is a little too "cute".

Understand the DESIRE to destroy the Time Machine, but is this a good idea? Not for Christine, but for the author! [Holmes turned to Christine as the men continued to batter at the door, and said, "There's no way out." She replied, "The Time Machine."] Thus giving us Book N in the saga, Holmes in 2017...

I must say, I've read the entire serial in two days, and find it a most engaging read. I fiercely hope you continue it… however, there's one slight mistake: Lestrade is Gregson's senior in the Met, and by about 1895-1900, he made DCI (Detective Chief Inspector), so he can literally give a rat's ass what the Viking thinks of the situation, and just round up half the station.

This is a really exciting story. I hope you can find the time to update it again soon. I understand busy all right, but I wanted to let you know that you still had interested readers!
