Rhett is horrid the way he speaks to her and treats her. She deserves better than him.

These two are so frustrating! At least Scarlett finally admitted she doesn’t know him and finds him confusing. Rhett wants her to run away with him, but what about the children?

Amazing what more confidence and a good sense of humour could have done for Rhett Butler. I think in the book he lost himself along the way just as much as Scarlett did and that is why he was unable to reach her. In your fic you managed to give him the right dose of arrogance and ability to laugh at himself what made him able to conquer that awfully dense woman.
